my new Mazdaspeed seats

Check out these Mazdaspeed 3 seats I picked up, the camera really picks up alot of red, but its subtle.
Might have to go with a red stictched shifter and ebrake boot now?

Im excited to fit these in the car, awesome black leather and ultra suede, they are BRAND NEW, I have both sides of the harness for the heated seat option, but I dont think Im going to bother with that.

Sorry for the crappy pics, will get better ones once I sit them in the car.

Let us know how those fit. I have a chance to get some speed 6 seats. Their pretty much the same, but all leather with no MS logo. I like those better though.

Wait hold on a damn min. When did the speed3 come with heated seats? Im only asking cause I know that the mid 08-09 ones didnt come with it at all, kind on like it has heated mirror hookups but none ever came with them from the factory. Oh and yea they are great, sit in one everday in the DD just coth instead of leather.

You will probably sit way too high, unless you do something with the bracket.
I've never sat in any OEM, Euro, Japan reclining seat that sits low enough in a FC, other that LOW-MAX, and those are crap.

I dont plan on using the stock brackets, they wont work anyhow. Measured from where the brackets would be to the cushion it measures about the same as stock FC seats, it might even be a inch LOWER actually, so it gives me plenty of room to figure something out.

Its like when guys try to get FD seats to go in a FC, you end up too high, but if you make your own brackets your good to go.

Its not the seat height that is the problem, its the MS3 brackets being too high, they will be removed and likely thrown into storage, and totally custom seat brackets will be fabricated. Stock FC seats and brackets are VERY low, but if you measure from the bottom of the seat, where the bracket would mount, to the top of the cushion where your thighs would be you get about 7", as long as your cushion is not more then that custom brackets is the answer

I was thinking about what you said about the heated seats, its probably the harness for the air bags in the seats.

Not that I care about heated seats anyhow, one thing my convertible has is TOO much heat, aint like I drive it everyday or when its really cold out anyhow.

All my daily cars have heated seats, I NEVER use them. Cool vented seats like my lexus has- now you are talking, all cars should have those!

Haha yea they have a pressure pad in the seats for the seat belt light and a pad is pass seat to disable the airbag for small people so that what the cables are for at least what I could gather during my searching in the fsm of the 09 model. I had heated in the rx8 but only time they got used was when it was below 50 and I had people rideing with me(always said it was to cold) since I always have the windows down or the A/C on.

hopefully this afternoon its not as hot as yesturday, was way too hot to mess with this crap.

I should have some room in my shop today to do some measuring. Want to see how far off the brackets are, maybe I will get lucky and they will be spaced the same and I can swap brackets from one seat to the other. I got lucky on 2 other cars like that, got seats from the same manufacturer and only had to un bolt and swap the brackets from one type to the other. The dimensions of the seats themselves are almost identical to stock vert seats, so with the right brackets it should have the right feel. I measured quite a bit before buying these things.

8713bfc- the fno1rc's that you see in those pictures are on my coupe

so far my spacing is off by about 2", so swapping brackets does not seem like it will entirely work.

Maybe Ill get lucky on one side of the seat, who knows?

I broke all the extra stuff down on the seats right down the the sliders, placed them in the car and they fit AWESOME.

I think my thighs will be at the same height they were, or perhaps a tad lower- but we know its easier to bring the seats up then bring them down! I measured with a tape measure as best I could and I come up about the same.

Im pretty excited and wanted to post some pictures but my host site is down right now, Im going to use a pair of these seat brackets I got with my other seats, sort of the universal type seat-to- vehicle specific bracket, just have to widen the seat part by an inch or so. They are made by Wedge, I just went to thier site and for $10 more they will custom make them to my specs.

I will post some pictures later when the site is back up, I took about a dozen of them showing the bracket, bottom of the seats, and the bracket/seat sitting in the car.

I was hoping to pull the car into my shop, but no such luck as I was full. I had to work in the storage tent so sorry if
my pics suck, I could only open the passenger door so much to take pictures and work.

stock MS3 bracketry, the stock brackets put the seats WAY too high

most of the stock MS3 brackets removed with the aftermarket bracket sitting next to it, later I removed the last part that has the 2 studs per side

stock seat height from floor, it was about 9.5", for the sake of the picture lets just call it 9" for now.

the wedge bracket sitting in the car by itself, dont worry that old gray carpet is going to go in the **** can once I get the seats figured out my black carpet is going in its place

seat height, looks about the same, maybe a tad lower

sitting in place

the sides of the seats are a bit beefier

MS3 seats have the seatbelt on them, I will probably remove and use the stock RX7 set up, thats the way Mazda designed it so thats the way I will go with it.

sotck comparison, you can see they have a nice profile, a little wider at the top section, but pretty close to original if not better. Some of you may be checking out that spare aluminum hood I have, its PERFECT and im keeping it just in case.

wedge says they will custom make brackets to your specs for $10 more then thier "stock" brackets. This will be the way I go, I hate relying on welders and as long as I measure the bolt spacing on the MS3 seats correctly there is no reason I cant have them make them to my specs, probably for a fraction of what a welder would charge me, plus I would not have to worry about my car at a shop.

I like RX8 seats, but when these came up for sale I had to have them, I wanted to get something more comfy under my *** then leather

here is the picture of the seat with all the MS3 brackets removed, by doing all that it takes a good 5" off the height.

I have already spoken to Wedge, about 1.5-2 weeks to make my brackets to spec, cant wait!

i ordered black perforated leather and red sticthing shift, ebrake, and center console cover from Redline today so I should be getting everything in at once.

Im also dragging my black carpet out of the basement today and cleaning it, it was in great shape when it went down there but has been sitting like 5 years now so im sure it needs a good cleaning.

I love my black perforated leather vert seats, they are super comfortable. I have them in a coupe though and can not stand the head rests.
