cranks then doesn't?

so when i was attempting to start my 7 today it was cranking fine.
i only had half the air box on though.
then i put the rest on and went to crank it again.
but when i do it just clicks and all electricity in the car is gone.
none what so ever.
and it won't come back unless i unplug the negative terminal and back again.
any ideas to the cause?

car has been sitting for two years.

Its either a dead battery or a dying starter, you can take them both out and get them tested at autozone.

i've tested the battery already and its good.
i hope not the starter.
but if it was that wouldn't kill all electricity to the rest of the car would it?

AFAIK, when putting the key in the start position, certain wiring changes, things go off and other things come on.

this is almost always a connection issue with any car. Clean battery and starter connections.
