crankcase ventilation
ok... got everything back together. The car runs good and barely smokes at all when at idle. But when I drove around the block, the car smokes badley under boost. I brought it home and pulled in the shop. After it sat at idle for a few minutes the smoking slowed down again.
So far I have:
- Checked oil return line for blockage
- removed vacuum spider
- removed p/s
- removed a/c
- blocked oil metering pump
- removed oil injectors
- gone to premix (of course)
- checked compression (good)
- vented crankcase to atmosphere (both)
- checked for bubbles in radiator (coolant seals)
- checked intercooler and exhaust for pools of oil (nothing)
- disconnected cat to check for blockage
today I took the filler cap of the car and the smoke went away. I wrapped a rag around the filler hole and zip tied it down. I then drove around for a couple miles and hardly any smoke at all. Mostly on shifts it would puff alittle, but ran good. Is there any other breathers for the crankcase besides the ones on and below the oil filler>?? Any ideas??

Haven't we ALL heard this
Take one of your vent lines...and run this into the TID with a one way check valve....just like stock......
This should put the oil pan under a slight slight vacuum and could help some.
You running a stock turbo or aftermarket?
