Clear? I don think it would look very good unless your coolent was clean as can be.... only advantage i can think of is you can SEE your coolent flowing into the radaitor

i am going to get some big sturdy clear hose for the main line that goes to the waterpump off the left of the radiator. i think that would look cool as well. (have to flush the coolant first of course)

We used a machine to power flush radiators at a shop we used to work at. It flushed it with coolant, and the hook-up tubes were made of clear plastic with braided strand's in it to hold the pressure.
It didn;t take long for the hoses to yellow and brown fron the heat of the coolant.
Now put those same hoses in an underhood environment where the water temps and ambient temperatures are much higher....
It'd be yellowed and hideous in under a month.

The clear plastic hose is somewhat of a good idea, but I have yet to hear about any plastic that can:
1) Withstand the heat.
2) Withstand the pressure.
3) Will not oxidize or change color.
If someone can point me to a plastic that can do this, I'll be willing to perform this "mod". To be able to monitor the general condition of your coolant will make it easy to figure out when to flush the stuff out.

Yes, a clear hose would definitely become old and nasty brown in color very fast. Take a look at your Tupperware. How many of you have that red spaghetti sauce color stuck in the plastic?

I have a friend that put clear hoses on his boat. he got it at homedepot. Hes taken the boat out about 12 times sence then, and has no problems. The reason he did it was that he was haveing coolant problems and he wanted to see if it was flowing. I say it about a month ago and didnt see any discoloration. Of course he only has maybe 78 hours on it.
Alrighty folks. I think we need to stop using this buzzword, "Caviation". And find out what it really means. Me included.

On clear hose. It would just make me feel bad for having coolant with crap in it.
