CAS Install?

I need to move the CAS from the old engine
(second photo) to the new engine (first photo).

My car is a '87 TII. The '88 manual says:

Turn the eccentric shaft until the leading top
mark (Yellow) is aligned with the indicator pin.

Here are the marks that I have. What should the
pointer be pointing at?:

The '88 manual then says:

Match the mating mark and install the crank
angle sensor on the front housing.

What does "Match the mating mark" mean? Is that
something inside of the CAS? I don't think so
because the manual never says to install the CAS
cover. What are they talking about?

Ok, not sure which mark is which. I can not remember which comes first. Yellow or Red. However, when you remove the crank angle sensor you will see the gear. In the gear there are two marks. One looks like a divet and the other is the piece that holds the gear. You want to align the divit with the mark on the shaft of the CAS. Once you have that aligned. Take the cover off like you have done. And note where the metal gear tooth is. Just pick a tooth.

The reason you do this is because the damn thing will move when you slip it in the engine. You need to make sure it dosn't move. That is not in the book.

Good luck.

Thanks James,
I looked for what you wrote about on a spare CAS, I found it and it makes sense. Thanks again!
