Well I have done alot of searching and can't seem to come up with anything. This is what I need help with. I have a 88ae it ran great besides the major exhaust leak do to the bottom of the second cat haveing holes in it. I just put a three inch exhaust on it and got my buddy to put a piece of pipe from the main cat to were the 3 inch exhaust starts. After I had this done. My car doesn't like to start when it is cold it will start but die right out and when driveing it and u give it thorttle not flooring it it seems like it is loading up and when I clear it out and it pops it runs great anyone ever had this problem or can anyone tell me what to check. I need help soon. Thanks in advance.

ok would you care to go into a little more detail about what happened before you switched the exhaust? did you do any other mods during your exhaust project? did you leave anything disconnected when you put the exhaust on? you may want to check over ANYTHING you MAY have touched when you were working on her.

Just a little confused. You installed a 3" dp from the turbo to a pipe that was welded on by your friend and connects to the main cat. Didn't touch anything else? Air intake system? Air filter housing?

I have the stock down pipe I had a pipe put in place from the stock down pipe the the 3 inch cat back exhaust. The car ran great befor i did this. We drilled a hole in the pipe and weld the air pump pipe back up. So everything is the same just no cat and no it doesn't like to start when cold and acts like it is loading up when i let off the gas when driveing. I don't know how else to explain it.

Consider using a descriptive subject line next time. I will update the thread with a better title.

Let's go back to this "welding" thing you did- did you isolate all the sensitive electronic components first? In other words, unplug them?

Yes I unpluged and removed anysensors that would of got hot. I have solved the cold start problem and bog at idle. There was a coolant sensor unpluged under the alternator but now I have a new problem. When I get into boosting it. She pops and sputtereds. I replaced the plugs and everything. I noticed the timeing is way advanced. Could this be the problem to much timing under post. Cuz if I drive her normal she runs great but as soon as I booster her she pops at me and I have toget out of her.

Do you have a fuel cut defender? Maybe your hitting fuel cut when boosting. Got a boost gauge? What boost is it hitting now and what was it before?

That was good info about the water thermo sensor plug being off. I knocked mine off a week or so ago and it caused a mild problem upon starting the engine cold.
