Cranking Wire in Ignition Switch Harness

Hi all,
I need some help please. I'm installing a car alarm in our '88 'vert & I need to splice a wire into the +ignition cranking wire in the ignition switch harness. Is there a clean splice location, wire routing/clipping method that you could share with me? (BTW- This is the wire that disables the starter) I know...if they want it - they'll take it. I'm just tryin' to make it a little more difficult
Thanks, Gary

On the '88 coupe, the black/red wire is the "start" circuit, and runs to the clutch interlock switch down there under the steering column, which might be a good place to splice without having to tear much apart. Note- the wire "from" the interlock switch is black/green, in case you want to use that one. This is presuming the verts & coupes are the same...

You need pics to find the clutch interlock switch? Maybe you shouldn't be tackling this, j/k...

Find the clutch peddle, follow the linkage up with your eyes, and you'll see a switch with a plunger sticking out that meets the peddle "arm"- that's your switch...Now find the wires coming off the back of the switch- that's your starter interlock circuit. Should be a black wire with a red stripe in that circuit...
