I'm not sure if any companies make a CAI for our cars. Check SAMPS, he's got the best custom CAI I've seen.

Shoot, just get a cone and clamp that sucker to the airflow meter - rock and roll. Takes about 5 minutes to install, and you'll definitely notice the difference.

There are no companies that make a cold air induction kit or anything for the 2nd gen - you have to fab your own.

Apexi's kit is really nice and it's a top quality filter, but it is a bit pricey.

What about the HKS Power Flo Intake? I think it's only 2.5", though... aren't most CAI's 3"?

I checked that link and gave them a call. $350 for a custom built (powder coated) CAI.

Not a good deal, and they lied to you. You do NOT need a TII fuel pump or upgraded injectors. Adding either would result in a huge loss in power from running rich.

First two thing I here about the company, and they're both negative....
Claiming an intake will make your car as fast as a TII... man alive!

I think that $350 for a peice of bent tubing, and a $25 filter is INSANE. I think I might experiment with PVC sections, and rubber connectors; see what I can come up with.

I heard that too. It probably wouldn't be too hard to replace it with a better, more reliable one, though. I wonder how well the whole intake performs. I can't seem to find any 2Gen guys that have bought/used it!

Buy an ebay intake and make your own cold air box. Best value and performance. For $350, you can do ALOT better things.

I had the HKS intake on my TII. It was OK, but the filter doesn't last very long, and you can't clean it. It looked good as long as the filter was new, so that's an advantage for show cars. Also, it had an attachment for the air pump hose, so that was nice. However, a K&N filter works just as well, if not better, and lasts for 10 years or 1,000,000 miles.
