Im not sure is I understand where the filter is going to go... In the fender??? on top of the fan shroud??? The way you have it lying it looks like top of fan shroud.
Also, where did you buy that?? Did you make it?

it's metal but it's painted. it's a dynomax 3" exhuast "U" bend. part # 42323. got if for $20cnd. but normaly $30cnd or so in stores. I think $15usd from summitracing.
it's one 180 degree bend with 12" long straight part. I cut it so one is 45 and one is 135.
I drilled a hole and sorta threaded that vac nipple in but it didn't work to well without a tap. so it's held tight with JP weld now
the red connecters cost me $10 each . I was surprised at the cheapness when I got the bill. one is a straigt 3" to the AFM. and 2 are a 2.5" to 3" reducer. for the turbo and S5 AFM filter side.
filter is k&n Re -0910. 8" long, 5" dia, and 3" hole
can't tell you where it's going read sig for project it won't be in for a few weeks.

Why not cut a whole just infront of the rad support baut 3" towards the fender, directly below where the stock air box sits? I have a CAI that goes right to where the stock headlights sat when closed, but could have done it just as well where I mentioned. Right about where the washer res. is.

well i picked them up from a local preformance shop... so that doesn't really help you. you can get them for more money at www.roadraceengineering.com (spelling?) just look for the "do it yourself" section
and yes I'm away and paying $2 an hour right now to be here LOL...
