try changing the coolant first and see if it goes bad
run the car with no radiator cap and look for bubbles

When was the coolant last changed?

It had "green" color coolant in there before right?

Because on my other car, the previous owner used a brownish orange coolant that most auto stores seem to carry a lot of now.

Maybe the previous owner mixed green with orange? I'd flush the coolant system stat. You can do the coolant seal test. If that passes look for a leak someowhere with the car running or you can have some place pressure test your cooling system.

What color was the coolant before you did the wp? Did you drain the block coolant as well or just the rad?

I'd flush it again using a prestone super flush fluid and then their flush and fill kit.

The flush and fill kit allows you to run a garden hose through the coolant system while the car is running. Worked fine for me. They are both cheap and you can get it at kragen.
