I fixed my car! Damn coolent/vaccum hoses.

So the guy who had this before me tried replacing some of the vaccume hoses. But instead of trying to cut them the correct length he just left them really long. I never noticed this as they were tucked behind the alternator and, more importantly, wrapped around a coolent hose.

Well, to make a long story short, at one point along the collection of hoses they started to melt and fuse together. Well a hole developed between the coolent hose and some of the vaccume lines. By the way there are the ones that go directly into the manifold.

Well, I took the vaccume hoses off cut off the bad parts and cut them to length and reinstalled. The coolent hose still has a small leak which I'm going to fix later.

Good news!!! Now I know my engine does not need to be rebuilt!

Tell me about it. But it was a HUGE releif when I found it. It was the coolent hose going to the BAC by the way.
