Sounds to me like typical high RPM ignition break up, you are blowing the spark out, from running too rich and not having enough spark. This is a tuning issue, you should be able to see exactly what is going on in the dyno graph, in correlation to your AFRs. I would suggest that you get an ignition amplifier (HKS Twin Power), put the 10's back in (gapped properly) and tune the car in the low to mid 11's depending on your boost level.

Why did you go from 10's to 9's?

I am guessing that you are talking about using NGK6725 plugs, correct? Also, what AFR do you recommend for his targeted 18PSI?

Unless he has AI or race fuel he should not be anywhere near 18psi, with that being said I never go into the 10 AFR range until above 25 PSI.

I plan on doing meth but still 14psi and timing turned down still crack an iron that fast? I ran 10s before this rebuild had new 9s laying around so I used them I was gonna put the 10s back in this week for the dyno but nope motors coming out again . I'm gonna try 20 psi and pump gas meth once the motors pinned. I have a jacops ignition box too I was gonna put on this week . sucks well see what happends I gotta pin the motor new wires FD ignitor 10s all around I guess. Maybe FD front cover to eliminate the cas and FD upper

FD front cover leads to oil pan issues. We run the FC CAS in our 450 rwhp 13b-re vert without any issues. We are running the FD coils and igniter, but that is only because I developed the PFC adapter on this car. Also developed the dual trailing igniter modification on this car.

Here is a how-to, but I don't think the coils are the cause of your issue, since there are 100's of people running around with the FC trailing coil mod (even with Haltechs) FD Igniter Installation How To

banzai racing is right, FC coils with FD ignitor is your best bet.. FD coils dont get you any more peak power, and FC have more energy
