Brake booster line on a TII??

I'm doing a NA TII conversion on my 88 GTU.

I read somewhere that the brake lines to the booster do not swap over.

Something about boost going into the brake booster.

Does anyone have a pic of this??or can explain where to find it?

I've got a GTU with the 4 pistons already so I have a semi TII already.

I read a thread somewhere which adding a one way valve can remedy this.

All help woud be great since I plan to be dropping the engine in under a month.

You got it..
A check valve is all you need.

(It would have to be a really wierd circumstance to be boosting & braking at the same time.)

But what part is it?Where?

Does it stem off the master vacuum or anything like this?

Not necissarily..brake boosting while driving can give you an extra jump from a roll...

Hmmm - interesting - In that case the check valve would hold the vacuum on the brake side while you had boost in the manifold.
But like I said - wierd.

Digi7tech.

All it is, is a one way check valve. You put it anywhere in the vacuum line that runs from the motor to the booster. Make sure that the check valve is positioned so air cannot go INTO the booster.

And in reference to braking while boosting:

You HAVE to have that check valve, or it will blow your booster up. Your brakes STILL work without vacuum, you just got to put more *** behind them.

Just a simple check in the hose from the brake booster to the IM. It passes air (suction) towards the IM, and closes when the IM is pressurized.

The checkvalve is already in your non-turbo brake boost line. It's located inches from the booster inlet. Its inside the black hose. The hose has markings on it indicating that is the case.

I don't think you would get enough vacuume
and also at idle or anytime your throttle is closed vacuume would go down

Just run a new piece of hose from the back of the throttle body where the turbo cars get their source of vacuum, then to the original non=turbo pipe located on the firewall. I did this over a year ago on a conversion and there are no problems. Others have done the same with NO problems.

The same can be said about the cruise control. The non-turbo cruise control isn't effected when the turbo engine is installed. It holds cruise speed just fine.
