Best/Quietest Way to Go About Shooting Flames?
I dont exactly have the funds just yet, but I was wondering what is the best way to go about making my 89 TII able to shoot flames, but still be quiet. I don't mean like stock quiet obviously, a nice tone would be cool, but I just dont want like open exhaust sound ya know? What exactly do I need to do for it to be still safe for the car?
Get rid of the cat. That's the biggest restriction.
My GTU with Bonez superflo and CS single cat back would always pop but I never got flames.
Just get a downpipe and race pipe but keep the stock cat back and it should still be quiet.

you'll Never shoot **** with mufflers and Cats!?? think about it, If you want Flames, You want Loud... I've never seen quiet with flames... my buddy shoots flames, but he's running RB road race header straight piped right back to 2 gutted mufflers... its the scareiest car to pull up to at a light.. Civic gives him a rev, so he fires it up to 7 G's, the ****** think is loud enough to shake the ****** civic around, while he shoots about 8 inch to 1 foot flames.. Intimidating As hell!! you gotta love the sound of 2 rotors spinnin at 7000 rpm... sounds like a barrel full of angry killer bees...

No, but I could get them... When it shoots a flame, its a fairly quiet pop. I wouldnt say they are HUGE *** flames, but I get compliments!
DISCLAIMER:
Big flames are generally an indication of a poorly tuned car. I shoot flames because I am too lazy to tune my car, and I love chewing through spark plugs because I am running rich. I am also interested in rebuilding my motor soon due to large carbon deposits.
Now, ON TO THE FLAMES!!!!

best way to flame you exhaust is to install spark plugs into your actual exhaust. seen some people do this. wired to a coil pack and a switch and flip the switch on, spark plugs ignite, flames come out from unburnt gases, specially when letting off throttle.
good luck

Before viewing that video i was about to say that he likelyhood of you making flames with no sound is about the same likelyhood of carlton banks becoming more of a pimp than will smith.
well, i guess carlton banks does kinda fit in with accountants and fiscal managers that will smith will never have.
good luck

Black FC3s is correct on the spark plug in the pipe. That will be the only way to shoot flames with your stock setup. but you will need to change your oil more often when you flood the engine with gas and then hit the switch that fires your coils again. Now you will shoot a 4 ft flame but I wouldn't recomend this for a rotary. I see it all the time on old street rods.
I was told that just removing the cats and running better flowing pipe will merit you large flames. I, personally, would prefer the spark plug method... I know its cheating, but flames are also illegal... and being able to control when the flames happen could be extremely helpful in keeping my *** out of jail.
