Awd Rx-7
http://mrec.rotary.net.nz/millen/millen.htm
Instead of bringing the old thread back to life, there's a new one. I was looking around and found this. First half of the pics show a 13B and the other half are of a 20B.

And the paint looks blue. This pic is different from the white/brown/red car above and has a sticker that says AWD on the front.

Not exactly conclusive, but real racers don't usually slap stickers on to increase horsepower.

its a damn shame to see what the re amemiya car looks like now she was a stunner in her glory days...now she is just rotten.....
and thats not the "true" drivetrain setup on rod millins car..... those pics of the drivetrain laying on the ground show a straight axle diff setup, whereas the actual rally car had an IRS setup

I have a brainstorm.
B2600's use the R type transmission, found in TII's, I believe the 4x4 tranny is the same except with a transfer case for the front wheels, swap a 13B bellhousing onto the 4x4 transmission drop it into a rx7, obviously you'll have to modify the floor pan probably.. but it should bolt up.
unless the 4x4 tranny is totally different. I'll have to look it up.
or if that dosent work.. just do up a 2wd or 4x4 rotary B2600 the bellhousings swap right in, flywheel is the same, as well as the clutch.

Dude that is insane!
I have never seen that before. That's like the perfect solution to weight distribution problems. The number one problem with an AWD car is the engine is too far forward.

Kiwi Rod Millen campaigned a 4WD 1st Gen with a 13B PP, then a 4WD 2nd Gen first with the same motor and then with a 20B turbo. It was sold to RE-Amemiya in Japan who modified it extensively for circuit racing. It was bought by a NZ rotary workshop (down the road from me) where it sat untouched under a cover for a long time. I saw it in this state 9-10 months ago. It was for sale on eBay a while ago but I don't believe it sold. This has all be posted before BTW...
Anybody even dreaming of a 4WD FC needs to have a close look at those pictures and then go have a close look at your car. Unless you're prepared to replace the entire front structure of the car you haven't got a chance in hell.

take a look CLOSELY at the picture...... notice """2""""" shifter levers...hhhmmmmm, iwhat could the other one be for????..... also note the protruding slab of aluminum that is barely noticable behind the oil filter.....thats where the d-shaft goes to.....
and this isnt a 4x4...so there probubly wouldnt be a giant transfer case...most awd cars have the transfer case built into the main transmission
at least do some reasearch before you post stupid *** comments! dank'u *** ugain

my bad, lol, that huge MAZDA oil filter was in the way... ok, so that is pretty damn bad ***... at first glance it looked like someone just put a shift lever there and a front ifs setup there with a driveshaft attached.... my mistake... i want one now

this is the first not-retarded AWD rx7 thread I've ever seen!
those pics are wonderful, wow...
That actually looks like a b2600 part... HMM.
it also doesn't look like a /ton/ of floorpan work would be required - obviously front subframe, hub and steering work would.
