Another stupid "How much boost" question...

Assume the following:

Stock ports, stock turbo.

RB turbo back, FMIC, Microtech LT-8s, 1000cc secondary injectors.

I want to run it on the stock turbo with all that, and get a rough tune in, so that I can go and switch to my bigger turbo. How much boost do you think I can run on the stocker?

14-15PSI tends to be the limit as most people say. After that its out of steam. Im running a stocker now and I dont think Ill try anything over 12 just to leave me some room.

12 is the turbos efficiency range after that you are pushing mostly heat. On the TMIC it is a little to hot up there try and stay around 10-12 with that and 12 with a FMIC or 12-14 maybe with some injection.

It is? And you have the HT-18 map to prove the similarity?

The inducer/compressor wheel used in the two turbos are well um basically the same.

If that TO4B wheel is so similar to the stock one then how come putting one in makes such a difference? That's pretty much all a BNR Stage 1 is.

1000cc secondaries on a stock turbo and stock ports? Preparing for a bigger turbo in the near future? Seems like major overkill if not.

I measured an S4 HT-18 compressor wheel and a TO4B compressor wheel this afternoon:

S4 HT-18: 12 blades, 43.8mm inducer, 63.0mm exducer
TO4B: 16 blades, 48.3mm inducer, 69.9mm exducer

So they're well um basically not even close...

This is backed up here:

http://www.turbocharged.com/catalog/comp_wheels.html

Mine appears to be a T04B-S. About the closest match to the stock compressor's dimensions is a T3-55, but it's a little small.

you can run 14 to get a rough tune in, but you can only hold like 7 pounds to redline, so you're whole upper range of the powerband will need retuned with the big turbo. i just switched from a stock turbo at around 14psi to a big T4 ITS turbo, and theres a lot of higher rpm and higher boost tuning to be done.

I Have TO4B-S wheel and a .60 ar housing. what sort of power can i make out of this motor with a street port . i ask to get an idea of what injectors to use.
I was gona go 660 primarys ( as i already have some that i got for free) and 800 secondrys but looking at the map on page 1 it looks like tis max efficency is anywhere upto 14psi ( but i dont know how to read that map.) 14psi is the same as the stock turbo. how much extra air will this move and am i wasting my money and time using this turbo
