American Eagle

Hi guys, I found a different set of wheels that are similar to the outlaw 2. They are American Eagle 16x7 with a +30 mm offset, so they should fit correctly.
But, how are they going to look on the 7. I don't think I would use the center cap. I think the center cap looks like it is for a truck.
Here is the wheel. Let me know what you guys think The picture is sort of a bad angle.

Are you kidding. IMHO it would look ugly on a 2nd gen.

My first thought was you were trying to getting postings, but then I saw you post count. I am!

No, I wasn't kidding. I originally tried to get American Racing Outlaw 2 wheels to fit but that didn't work out.

What kind of wheels do you have on your 7?

The reason I asked was they look like the wheels Ford put on their trucks in the 90's. Think Ranger, Explorer.

I have a set of 17" Fittipaldi's that were on the car when I bought it. Sorry, no pic from the car, but they look like this without the offset.

Don't do it young person!!!

@ first I thought this thread was about...
Then I was confused as to why it this was started in the first place, you should've just added to your "outlaw 2" thread Alritzer....or better yet one of the other numerous wheel fitment threads. Just sayin'...

You can do alot better than those, I would expect a redneck to put american eagle wheels on a japanese car , probably compliments a chevy small block 350 swap to go with it lol.

You aren't going to find a lot of support for putting American Racing wheels on a Japanese sports car. Typically you are gonna hear things that range from "It's your car, do what you want", to "WTF is wrong with you..rawr, rawr.." American Racing, Cragar etc are what you typically find (and look best) on American Muscle.

If you want to stick to cheap/economical and American look for some Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis wheels. They are pretty light, fit pretty well, look pretty good and are cheap, cheap cheap.

I never gave any thought about putting American Racing Wheels on a Japanese car. I suppose I should be looking at Japanese wheels.
I have about $800 without going to saving.

I didn't mean that actual wheel, I was just trying to get a better picture angle.

Yep, I just didn't want you guys having to wade through the other thread because I thought it was getting long.

$800 for just the wheels, or $800 for wheels and tires?

Look at XXRs, Rotas, or Drag Wheels.

If you've got to have 16s just get the crown vic wheels

I might be wrong but I don't think any girl would make the connection between Japanese car and Japanese wheels. Most girls just think....... "Hey those are cute".
But, now I can see your point.

If I get 15" wheels, I already have two sets of almost new 15" tires, so all I would need would be wheels.

those style wheels are more suited for a truck or old domestic boat than an import sports car. you will wind up with a low offset and not the deep dish you see in the picture, ultimately making the design look not so appealing, ie the less of a lip between the face and outside there is the more gaudy they look. initially i had 8" wheels on my S-10 but i disliked them after a while and went for some 10" wide with more offset which looked more like the original Mickey Thompsons.

also when i had them on my truck the castings eventually became porous and the wheels would not hold air. a soap test on the wheels showed several spots in the aluminum that were hemorrhaging. it was a very minor leak but still very irritating since there is no realistic way of fixing it besides imbalance the tire further(33" tires) with slime coating.

If you are dead set on 15" wheels because you have the tires then just get a set of convertible wheels and call it a day.

^ What he said. Convertible BBS wheels weigh in at around 12 lbs or so. For a 15" wheel you won't find many that look better on the car and are lighter.

I'm not dead set on 15" wheels but my bf says "it's plain stupid" to buy 16" wheels when I already have really nice, almost new 15" tires. But, I can always sell the tires and wheels that I already have.

Thanks for the idea of the convertible wheels, I'd never considered that option.

I have to agree w/ what rotaryevolution said in your other thread. If you like them, use them. Don't worry about what others say or think about them. I'm not a fan of the tri-blade things you have on it now, but if that's your thing then go for it. I personally think the steelies that Rotorhead722 put on his car look pretty damn good, and they still fit your affinity for old-school style rims.

For anyone who is wondering, they're 15x8 +6 with 8mm spacers all around, and he got them from Summit for $50ea.

My car had big 18" on front and 19"on back with spacers before i bought it , probably heavy but looked great.

I could of got them for $500 extra but I decided to get the car without, got two stock t2 wheels and two aluminum spares with it for $500 less off the cars price.

Here's how they looked, idk the weight but they look pimp with rolled fenders on back, car is lowered 1.5" all around.
