Question alky injection

i have an base model with a full 88 tII swap and my buddy is selling an alchohol injection kit for really cheap that i an contemplating on getting. I was wondering if anyone on here is running a kit and how do the rotarys like it? A quick overview of my mods are 88 13bt, bnr stage 3 (14psi), full rb exhaust and greddy fmic.

Rotarys love it. Makes intake charge cooler and helps with detonation. As well as ups octane number if 50/50 water meth is used.

If its a complete working kit, I would get it. But I already have one...

im getting this kit http://www.rjcracing.com/SMC_Alcohol...injection.html its the universal which prolly wasnt used but for 5 passes down the track on a buick grand national. He wants $160 for it. Where should i put the nozzle? In the charge piping or the intake?

i dont like the kit though. its way better to save up and get a kit.

aquamist sells kits for hella cheap if you buy a discounted system.

It is commonly called "Auxiliary Injection" (AI) on this forum. Here is the subforum:

Spray it before the intake in the IC piping... But if you choose to spray before the turbo make sure you only spray water.

the reason beind it is methanol is VERY corrosive. if you inject methenol pre-turbo, it will in time, damage the blades on the compressor.

there are other reasons also, but this is one i know for sure. just keep it safe and only inject water pre-turbo. and keep the meth post-turbo...

E85+ water pre-turbo + Meth post-turbo + intercooler = ICE breathing unbreakable engine!

Meth pre-turbo doesn't damage the blades.

I too have read that meth sprayed pre-turbo can eventually cause damage... Do you have anything proving otherwise?

If the mist isn't fine enough it will damage it. I have been running it for years without problem, is that proof enough? There are many others too...

Meth pre-turbo doesn't damage the blades.
I have one Pre-Turbo and one Pre-Throttle Body. The Pre-Turbo is smaller nozzle, finer mist.
After 12k miles, there is NO sign of corrosion.

I'm running 50/50

I am sure that after 50k there will be some signs, but so what if I have to replace JUST the compressor blade every 50k miles... that's 20 years with the amount I drive my 7...

Just go read the AI section, people are doing REAL R&D over there on this subject and there are some real smart guys figuring this stuff out.
