Why do you need to get rid of it?
It's the most accurate means of measuring how much air is getting into the engine, and now you want to get rid of that?
That is what is preventing you from blowing everything up!

You can control the MOP with a megasquirt, you'd just need to build it to accomidate it. Its a DIY computer........so DIY.
There's no way to remove it without switching to some form of standalone - be it a megasquirt, haltech, whatever. I don't know anything about the Rtek, never used one and never will. If they come up with one eventually that will elminate the AFM, thenits going to essentially be an entirely new computer anyways since it will have to be mapped in a different format from stock(speed density).
I've read a thread about one person eliminating it with the e-manage ultimate, but thats a complete and utter waste of time. For the price you could buy any entry level standlone and have infinitely more control.
Short answer? no, you can't on a stock ECU.
You can (as mentioned) install it in the IC piping, works quite well. You need some form of crude fuel control like an S-AFC however do compensate.

so go with the S4 front cover and the mech OMP.

Using that logic with other items that take up room...
FMIC = fail
Big turbo = fail
Upgraded radiator = fail
Big brake kit = fail
Therefore, your logic = fail. Nice try though.
The main difference between flying to Mars and running the OMP off the MS is that somebody has actually accomplished (unmanned) flying to Mars.
