AEM Tru-Boost setup?
Alright guys, I picked up one of these units and just finished installing it...but the instructions for setup are minimal at best. I've ran through the basic setup options...but I'm new to EBC's in general. Has anybody used this particular unit? I'm trying to figure out how to set it for a certain boost level. Of course there is no "set it to 15psi" option. I'm assuming it has something to do with the Duty cycle that you can change from 10% to 90%...but I don't know exactly. Anyway, if any of you guys have used this unit, then give me a rundown on what you did to get started setting it up to run a certain level of boost.

No experience with that unit inparticular......
But what I would do/have done in these situations is pick a low (aka - THE LOWEST ) setting, drive, boost, watch carefully.
See what you get for boost (stock turbo?) and go from there. If it appears to be running on wastegate, then just up it a few % and try again. Repeat.
Thats the best advie I can offer other then someone who is running that EBC on your same setup.
Good luck, I'm interested to hear how the AEM one performs, I've only seen the SARD gauge/controller unit in action.

looking on some other forums...what classic said seems to be the only method...set it to 10% and run the car and see what boost I get (which should be 5 lbs because that's what I run off the wastegate) and then just go up a few percent on the duty cycle each run until I get the desired boost level. Then after I get my desire boost I'm suppose to go back and set the crack pressure on the wastegate...starting at 1psi and increase it 1 psi per run until I go over my previously set boost level, then back it back down 1 psi. Now...shouldn't this number be close to my wastegate spring pressure/the boost level I get on wastegate alone?
Does this sound correct to you guys...it's really the only info I could find on setting this thing.

it works as advertised. It's simple install...i took swapped out my old boost gauge for the new gauge....and yea...you have to pretty much do a run...and bump up the duty cycle then monitor boost level...repeat this process until you get the desired boost level. It's very simple to use...if you just want a basic controller that's easy to install and lets you set 2 different boost levels to change between this is a good unit...and the other thing I liked is it doesn't have to be another gadget or control i have to find a place to mount...it just pops in any standard 52mm gauge pod.
