Questions for the builders

So I picked up a NA series 5 for pretty cheap. The guy told me it was blown but still had good compression ~90psi. I broke it down over Thanksgiving and now would like some experianced opinions of what I should replace. If possible I'd like to just replace the soft seals.

You can see the pinched coolant seal in this if you look closely.

Is the carbon buildup near the sparkplug holes typical or something to be concerned about? Also, I know the aux ports have been enlarged, but have no idea to what extent. I've looked through companies templates to compare but still have no idea if this is custom or a pattern. I think the primary ports and exhaust ports are original with the exception of the diffusers being cut out.

So what do you all think? Can the exhaust sleeves be changed or do you have to swap the whole housing? This is my first rebuild and all wisdom is appreciated.

the exhaust sleeves can be replaced you just have to get the pins that hold them in out of there,, i just use a small selftapping screw and a prybar,,, you can get the sleeves from japan2la on here, i got a set from him for my car when i rebuilt last month

Any suggestions at all? What should I do about the exhaust? Just get new sleeves or port it more? Think just the soft seals would be enough?
