adding oil at every fill up
I never have to add any oil when I fill my tank up every week and a half or so. The oil level stays right at full. I'm just wondering if this is average or if I'm one of the lucky few that doesn't burn any oil? I'm using 20/50 Castrol GTX.

Yep, seems normal to me. Around a quart every 1k or so is pretty much normal. If you have to add oil every fill up you have a mojor problem. Either totally shot oil control rings, or a major external oil leak.
I rarely had to add oil to mine, even when it had 215k on the clock. Now coolant was a whole different story.....

lol yeah the BK thing is pretty funny.
I have an oil leak somewhere (probably the oil pan gasket) and I run 20w50 Castrol GTX also, I have to fill up just about 1 quart every 2500 miles, and this is with very hard driving. If you keep it in lower RPMs obviously you'll burn less oil.

damn, I know I have issues with ym car, but, just to add my 2 cents, i have to add at leats alittle every two fill ups, which fo rme is about 400 miles, it won be much oil, but, still, itll drop a bit, and coolant n oil likes to mix I have notice,d but, Im ready to rebuild.

He gets 400 out of 2 tanks. If I filled up at a quarter tank I usually got 250+ miles out of my tank, or roughly 20 mpg. This was mixed city/highway with a good bit of spirited back-roads driving. I could pull off high 20's with solid highway. I could get over 400 from a tank if it was solid highway miles.

it seems to be driving perfectly fine. Doesn't smell, doesn't get hot, no funny noises (other than a bit of popping when you let it fall from a high rev). It smells a bit of gas but thats because my fuel pump cover has a bad gasket (idiot that owned it before me tried to replace the filter and realized its not the same... busted off 3 screws dammit...). I take it on 60 mile trips twice a week and it seems fine.

If you are really worried about it, then you can test the metering oil pump as per the procedures in the FSM. It's nearly impossible for the pump itself to fail though, so any problems will be at the lines (you would still use the oil, it would just end up on the engine) or the squirters (they can clog).
