Question active port bridge

hi im wondering about an idea thats been in my head for a few weeks now im curious if anyone has tryed bridge porting the top ports in a 6 port engine i think it might help the fuel consuption problem and the lack of low end power i would port the sleeve as well as the plate and im curious if anyone else has tryed it or even just thought about it

It's been done, most have failed to produce positive results. It doesn't work at all with stock manifoilds or factory EMS. There was a race team that used to autocross SpitFires with an aux bridge and working lower stock manifold 6 ports with a Racing Beat upper and Weber carb and full exhaust. They had great low and high end power (granted was a super light car too). They dyno'ed over 200 at the wheels (which can be done with a well tuned street port too). It typically wont work unless you really know what your doing both in porting and tunning the whole system. 90% FAIL at it.

Just so you know...... although they were successfull in having more power ever where over a stock engine (except maybe 2000 and below), a well street ported 4 port turbo engine will out perform it still, and a half or full bridge port 4 port will out perform it even more. In other words, it's a huge waste of time, energy and money..... unless you like to be different, but don't expect it to actualy work.

Come to think of it, it might have been a Sprite, or maybe it was a Spitfire..... It was done in the late 90's.

Ya, ta' hell with reading others experiances, it'll work!

Did you miss the "all the downsides of a bridge port (poor idle and cruise) with NONE of the benefits (no power to be gained, perhaps even less power over a well done street port or even stock)"?
