AC causes COOLANT leak: coincidental or causal connection?
Yesterday I charged my AC, cranked the AC up to see if it was working, and only hot air came out.
From my seat to the engine bay, I then realized that coolant was spraying from my thermostat housing (it is plastic and had a hairline crack about an inch long).
So, the question is this: Is there a causal connection between the AC being cranked up and my thermostat housing cracking and spraying coolant everywhere?
The guy from AutoZone noted that there seemed to be an excessive amount of pressure in the coolant system. Also, the AC being charged, I expected it to blow out cold air (worked last time it was charged last summer), but only hot air came out. I couldn't test it much after the coolant began to spray, so I am unsure if it would have eventually came out cool or not.
Anyone?
Thanks.

As far as I know, there is no relationship between the two.
Causal: something that causes? I'm not Webster though.
I don't think it is a coincidence though: something always breaks after something gets fixed. I think this is a requirement.
