Aside from the resister pack for the lower impedence injectors if its an early 87, they should be the same.

Which, by my understanding means you CANNOT use the 88 harness in an 87 car because the 87 is set up for low impedance injectors so NEEDs the resistor pack. 88's are high impedance injector design.

You CAN use an 87 harness in an 88 car however if you simply cut the harness running to the resistor pack and twist all the wires together (assumes you will solder them all together and then insulate with shrinking tubing or the like).

You just simply locate the resister pack, remove the resisters, then recrimp all of the wires together. The fsm can be found online, or its location is in your haynes or chiltons manual. Late 87s, i have been told, do not have this pack.......so you still may be good. No big deal at all removing it, in the greater scheme of putting an engine in.

yup.... or you can put higher imp injectors in.

Okay, on the 87 what is the ECU? A N332 or a N333?

If it is the N333 then you can use the 88 harness as plug and play with no issues.

If the ECU is a N332, then there are minor re-wiring needed in regards to the injectors and resistor pack to use the 88 harness in it..

There were 1987 model year Turbos made with both the N332 and N333 harnesses and ECU's. The switch over happened around 1/87.

If you don't know the ECU number then the production date and last 10 digits of the VIN will tell us if you can use the 88 harness without modification.

ok so i have some more info on the car, it has a jspec engine in it now but they used the original wiring harness...wont kno wat ecu it has till tomorrow but he said it used to have a resistor box but they bypassed it. Im thinking they used the injectors that came with the jspec and not the original ones. They say it needs a new harness cause everything works but the fuel injectors wont fire....how do you tell the high I. from the low I. injectors?? cause he has like 3 sets of injectors maybe the wrong ones are in the car right now thats y its not working...

Borrow an ohm/volt meter/tester. Set that **** to U. Put one lead to each of the connections on the injector. High impedence injectors were 15 or so on my 88 if i remember correctly.
