Vert hard top?

Does anyone make a hard top for the convertibles like the ones made for S2000's or Miata's? My vert's top is shot, both inner and outer layers!

Unfortunately for us though, the SCCA does not recognize it as a hard top to allow it to run in Rally-X etc or for track days.

You'd spend more money custom making / painting a hard top section than you will buying a new top. I had mine done for $700.

That is the most awful hard top ever. He just hardened his existing top, and sucked at it horribly.

Cheap tops are bought on Ebay. Then you have to install it, and it's a pain in the ***. Best bet is to pay the money for one of those exhange programs. I think that Rx7world.com has this thing where you can take your top off, frame and all, they send you a new one, you send the old one back. Mucho easy, and it won't suck like my ebay one. AABest is the name of mine, and I had it professionally installed. They jacked it all up. I bought new top seals from BlackDragon, and the damn thing still leaks. I said it was the installer's problem, they said it was the manufacturer of the top. I don't know which one it was, but one thing's for sure. If I ever have to replace a top again, I'm not paying someone else to do it.

i have always wondered about a "hard top" for a convertible.

they first link to the red rx7, i dont think it was THAT bad.

it could have been contructed much better and left black. but thats just my opinion on it. if there were a hard top conversion, it would probably (well hopefully) clear most of the leaky top problems.

although im sure it would probably be cheaper to go get a hard top fc shell and build that up.

hardtop rx7s remind me a little of the 240sx coupe. It is a little unique.

If someone with a good eye and actual metal or fiberglass skills did one I think it could look really really good.
