I was afraid of that...i had wanted to use the 3rd gen water pump so i could use a true serpentine pulley setup. For what i want the water pump would be spun by the back side of the belt, pictures i've seen of the 3rd gen cars already do this and i wasn't sure if the 2nd gen water would work well going backwards...

RX-7 Specialties in Calgary Alberta is currently working on a serpintine setup for the 2nd gen. I have an early test set of pullies now. They look great. Not sure when they will start selling them though.

I think atkins has a pulley kit for serpentine, but I am not totally sure.

I've seen it advertised on some other company's website as well, but that was like 9 months ago

are you looking to run a supercharger off the same belt and have it snake around water pump first then to the supercharger then to the alternator?

Yeah, belt should go to the Supercharger, then around the water pump up to the alternator then back to the main drive. I think that if i could do that then i wouldn't need another tension pulley. From what i hear the atkins setup would not work because it drives the water pump the same way the the stock pulleys do, it just uses a single belt.

The water pump fits.
We've done it.
You need the longer 13B-REW studs, as the FC ones are too short.

The aux stuff (AC and PS) might not fit exactly the same, and I think you need to redrill one of the mount holes on the site.

The 13B-REW rad inlet and outlet ends are different thant he FC stuff, so you need to redo the hoses.

Beware of the plastic AST - it fails on FD's, and it's recommended to get rid of it or get an aftermarket aluminum one.

I don't care about the aux stuff, i'll figure out how to get those to fit later, but if the 3rd gen pump fits then that'll make my mod for the SC a little easier...i think...

Thanks RETed!!
