Talking 300rwhp?

ok dont flame me cus i searched all over for an old thread about this but i couldnt find one. i currently have a 350hp mustang but i want to get a rx7 now, ive always beena fan of the rotary and i have been reading about them for years! im goin to college so i know 2ng gen rx7's are cheap and i want a good project car to keep me busy for a few years. im lookin to buy a TII and get the motor streetported and possibly a t04e turbo but im not sure of trim sizes after porting the motor... anyway i wanted your opinions on what the ideal setup is for a reliable 3002hp drift rx7??? what parts needed to make it happen and run daily? thanx

First of all, welcome to the rotary realm.

Now that we've established that, I think you need to work more with the search function. I see a thread about this exact same thing, or even higher horsepower probably 2 or 3 times a week.

A bigger turbo and supporting mods will easily get you there.

300rwhp is my goal for my car....there are disadvatages and advatages to the way I'm doing it...do some research and figure out the way you want to take...but generaly speaking, stock ports will be fine for those power levels and a full turbo upgrade (like a t04e) would put you way over the 300whp mark.

This is the way I'm doing it...
stock ports
stock S5 hotside, upgraded compressor side (stock/hybrid turbo)
Mircotech LT-8 standalone EMS
walbro 255lph fuel pump
1600cc secondary injectors
FMIC
3" intake, 3" exhaust

..that should pretty much be a soild 300rwhp setup....you could use a SAFC instead of a standalone...but a full standalone is a much better solution(but expensive)

I'd also invest in a stronger clutch(ACT S/S kit for me)....and make sure to get gauges(boost, egt, temp, w/e).

If your making it a drift car, I'd be more worried about the suspention/drivetrain/tires.

I'm going with RB spring, KYB adj. sturts, poly. bushing set.... and maybe some bigger sway bars in the futrue. For tires I'm still shopping around...but I'm leaning towards toyo proxie L1-S's.

Again...just do alot of searching and research and figure out the advatages/disadvatages for everything, then decide the route you want to take.

you can get 300 rwhp with 4 720's with no sweat. But the 1600's leave you the options of more if even needed.

There's nothing wrong with more fuel injector capacity, as Bukwild said.
1600's cheaper than most other options, so thus the popularity of that size.
Marren sells them for $75 / each.

im lookin at an old 89 TII drift car i want to buy with a blown motor. the car is for sale on this forum and has a 8pt cage, Haltech E6k, Trust suspension components, 6 puck clutch, shimmed diff, etc. the car is ideal for my project, just needs a motor. i dont know how much i can trust jspec motors but i planned on ordering one and having it rebuilt and streetported, equipped with 550 primaries and 1600secondaris, FD fuel pump, and either the t04e i mentioned or some other turbo.... im still undecided on what setup would be best becuase i want as little lag as possible. lookin to run around 15-16psi
