2+2 question...

Just wondering if it would be any harder to find a 4 seater rx-7 than it would to find a regular 2 seater?

I'm thinking of getting an 89-91 t2, preferably a 4 passenger one.

THanx,

N

2+2 models aren't as common, but you could always buy just a 2 seater and purchase a backseat separately and install it yourself.

Ah, so the regular 2 seaters have the room, they are just missing the actual seat? What's in the space where the seats would be? Would I have to sacrifice anything to have seats?

thanx,

N

a 2+2 TII is really hard to find. Just buy a TII and take out the buckets in the back and put the seats in.

People have taken out the backseats and put in the compartments...the conversion can go either way.

You would just have to get take out the storage compartments to put in the backseat.

No offense, but why the hell do you want a 2+2???

It is far and away the most useless option for an RX-7.

Nothing bigger than an infant or some grocery bagas can fit back there... and they are really heavy... adding unnecessary weight to an already underpowered car.

Its actualy a 2 + 1

Cus you can move the pass side up to allow some one behingd him, but I wont be able to drive if I'm all the way up in the Drivers side.

So when ever I use my back seats its only for one person unless there is no other option.

On behalf of the Rotary family (yes, FAMILY), I welcome you to the forum.
Even moreso, as a local Vancouverite, I welcoem your presence and your choice in vehicles.

As a BC boy myself, I acn help you in findign what you are looking for. What exactly are you looking at, a Turbo or NA car? S4 or S5?

As for seating.... the 86-88 cars sometimes have 2+2. What this is is two front bucket seats and then two very small bucket seats behind the driver, looking like so form a side view:
/
/ _____________
/ /
/ ____/
______ / /
In a 2+2 car, the rear seat area has a cover over it with two storage bins in it, like this:

/

/ [bin]_______(hatch)____
/ /
/ /
______/ /

The rear seats are extremely cramped and uncomfortable, but usually just the right size for small children.
The seats are sometimes available to buy, and just bolt in; expect $150 USD for a set.

Lemme know what you are looking for, I'll see how I can help.

Some pages are worse than others...
Ahh, my first clutch! Oh, the memories, the swearing, the GL5 in my hair, the scraped knuckles, laying on my back in the cold trying to bench press a tranny into place, the tranny falling on my *******! *sniff* I was so young!

LOL and THATS when you realize that that damn manual only tells HALF the info

I hate it when it says "remove this, see chapter whatever". Then you find out it a good 45 min work jsut for that first step

If anyone is interested in a set of seats I have a set of non leather black ones from my 89 GXL that I would trade for bins.
