several years ago when i had my 87 sport and I was on here a couple people had SC FC's I couldn't tell you who they were now but i remember they were quite happy with the results. The cars weren't as fast as a good turbo set up but 6-7lbs on an NA made for a spirited ride. provided I'm remembering correctly.

Port and polish?

I wouldn't exactly even compare that to the amount of power you'd get out of a turbo or supercharger. A supercharged N/A with no mods besides the supercharger will usually put you around what a stock TII has for power. Yes, it is possible to put on a supercharger if you would have searched. They used to make a kit for the FC, and there are a few people on the forum running them. Next time, please search.

I thought about doing an SC on my vert. Nothing that I read inspired me. There where SCs that had been sold 4 or 5 times just on this forum and nobody had any luck making it work.

Camdon (atkins?) has a kit, but it will only hold idle at 1200rpm.

Do alot more research, but you arn't going to have a lot of luck with the supercharger.

Aaron Cake has alot of info on doing a 6 port turbo. Or you can just swap out everything, drivetrain, ecu, diff.

Good luck

I sure hope you're joking about having a Honda engine in your rx-7. That would be a disgrace.

As for a supercharger, there are kits available for the fc but they are adapted for a Holley carb. In my many years of working with carbs, I have found that Holley carbs are better suited for occasional track use (after some tedious jetting and power valve experimentation) but are not a good idea for a daily driver. Unless, of course, you are prepared to constantly re-tune your Holley carb every other day, due to their crappy and outdated design.

HAHAHAHA port and polish??? funny guy over here!!No more Gran turismo lingo from you, ok? And for the record port & polish is NOT porting the TB and polishing the UIM.

Go turbo. every single SC car I have seen has barely made close to 250 hp and they spend close to 2x the amount of money on their setups. IF you like to waste money for a couple more "cool" points then do it otherwise the most cost-effective power adder will be TII swap.

I think it's funny that a guy that named himself after the original Mazda name that brought the rotary to the forefront of the automotive industry is the first one to shout out "LS1." What a douche.

I voted for NONE-OF-THE-ABOVE because you don't know what you want or why. I researched SC's a long time ago and I found that the numbers were not high enough to warrant going SC over turbo. Simple searching for numbers and FACTUAL information (besides "which do YOU guys like" ) yielded all the answers I needed and all the answers I gave you. Since it doesn't look like you know which direction you're going it seems like a reasonable choice to say NONE-OF-THE-ABOVE for you.

I would go with a Racing Flywheel and Racing Intercooler and stage 2 weight reduction.

I would go turbo, but here is the link to Camden's Supercharger Kit for the FC. It will keep it FI.

Race tune and Racing ECU. Definately Port/Polish... Makes the air flow much more smoother-er...

I dig SC's... but Turbo will probably yield you more hp and probably fewer problems in the long run.

SC's should be for cars that can spare losing some torque to MAKE torque.

The FC has anemic torque and adding a belt driven SC will ROB the car of SOME power JUST to MAKE power. It works fine for V8's because they have plenty of torque to spare but I don't see a good reason for it on an RX7.

Look up the TISC Mazda Prototype rotary motor. Seemed like a good idea but failed to make it past prototype stage and it evenntually led to the 5th and 6th auxillary ports. Could MAzda have made it work? probably but why did they scrap it and eventually decide to go turbo? I don't know for sure but I think the engineers mght have seen more potential with the turbo.

I have seen several on these boards ( a fairly new member bought a really nice GTUs SC but we have not seen real numbers yet.) and talked to an FC SC owner and he told me he wishes he'd gone turbo.

Go turbo and just tell everybody that you have a supercharger (which would be a true statement). That way you get the best power, efficiency, and bragging rights all in one.
