When I have to argue with someone because they don't believe me when I tell them it has no pistons.

My 88 vert has "VERT RX 7" on the plates. I was at the dry cleaner's a while back picking up my stuff. This guy was behind me at the counter. Conversation....

Him: "that your white convertible out there?"
Me: "yup"
Him: "you a pharmaceutical salesmen or something?"
Me (puzzled as hell): "No. why?"
Him: "Just trying to figure out your license plates"
Me (still puzzled as hell): (blank stare)
Him: "thought you worked for some company that makes prescription medicine for vertigo or something"
Me (LMAO): "No, it's an RX7 convertible"
Him (puzzled as hell now): "Oh" (and turns to just stare at my car trying to figure it out)

I picked up my order, got in my "vert" and drove off, as he watched.

In a way though, he was correct. In the day, while the RX-7 was a bit expensive, it was FAR cheaper then it's competition and also far more capable.

Some sillyiness from last week happened when I pulled into a customer's place to drop off some stuff.

I guess some of the employees had not seen the RX-7, so while I was going about my business I could overhear them making comments about "Those Mazdas". Shortly later one of the salesmen came up to me and said "You should put a Chevy 350 in that". We then had a very short conversation as to why I'm perfectly happy with the 500 RWHP from my 80 cubic inch (you can't go metric with these people) rotary.

What possesses a person to make these comments? I don't walk up to Mustang owners and say "You should put a 13B rotary in that".

So, I'm at the bar with my friends, and this one random guy starts coughing it sounded funny but I didn't think anything of it. Then my friend Mo says, "that guy sounds like your car", haha! The best part is that she doesn't know much about cars. I love the rotary motor...

1:Friend see's a picture showing a rx7 on the driving road.

Friend: Hey that picture must be fake, it's showing a running RX7!

2: Go to sears to get alignment:
Sears Guy: RX7? That's a nice car.
Me: Thanks
Sears Guy: Looks at the mileage. 155,xxx miles? Is that the original engine?
Me: Yup.
Sears Guy: Usually these things blow up by then, you are lucky.
Me: Really?
Sears Guy: Yeah I have a buddy who swapped a v8 in it. You should do that it's so much better
Me: Give him a irritated look. (Everyone seems to have a buddy who swapped a v8 in an FC, so they have to tell you to do the same.....)

3: Chatting with WRX owner.

WRX Guy: I used to have a FC before I had this.
Me: Really why did you sell it.
WRX Guy: It was too slow.

We go for a run in the local twisty back roads with a turbo MR2 and WRX guy. My N/A is behind the MR2 and WRX behind me. Me and MR2 leave WRX way behind while my leaky oil control rings leave a cloud of smoke. We stop and get out to chat.

WRX Guy: I saw you take off, there was so much smoke I thought your headgasket blew up.
Me: No, just a tired engine
WRX Guy: What did you do to that thing, it's so fast.
Me: Nothing, stock engine. Must be the driver.
MR2 Guy: Laughing hard.

Huh?

Why are you "warming up" the car?

Why does it take 20 minutes?

yea i may have been exageratting a bit. more liek 10 or 15 solid mins. im not sure why but when i do a cold start it does it 3k rev then stays at about 1400 rpm and i dont drive till it drops to normal idle (around 700 rpm) i think cuz i have no thermostat so it runs cooler? im not sure why.. you have any input on that aaron?

That's normal operation, it will rev up to 3k, and then idle will stay high till operating temp is reached. After you start your car you should just get in it and drive it, just don't do any high revs until operating temp is reached. you are just wasting fuel as you let the car idle down. just my .02

so today i was walking out to my work van with my racing beat catalog for lunch and i hear, "can i touch your Wankle". it made me smile, i turned around and it was some old guy, he said he had one once and recognized the rotor on the cover of the catalog. I thought that was pretty sweet.

The 1st gen Integra's from 1986 to 1989 Was the DA3. To this day was the fastest cars I've owned. Hell if my Vert wasnt so heavy it would it would have beat my DA3... my fastest time with my DA3 was 15.800 in the quarter with stock D16A1 pushin about 120 hp and about 105 ft to the wheels at like 2360 lbs when I got done with it. Back then They has alot of the cars look alike. RX-7's,MR2's, AE86, S12 Silvia's, Accords, Integra's, Just to name a few tryin to copy Porsche Body styling...
