U still need to thin the paint with reducer no matter how hot it is so you dont get crazy orange peel.
If you sprayed straight base what size tip are you using?

if he was using a single stage paint it would require no reducer

basecoats need reducer/basemakers, singles do not

The reason i asked if you were using reducer was because u got MAD OANGE PEEL! looks as if your paint was drying to fast and didnt have time to flow out right and get the mirror finish.

Base coat paint is a 50/50 mix ratio because straight base is SUPER thick.
Single stage will lay out better if you reduce it a little bit.
U still wanna reduce your clear some too so it lays out right and you wont have to spend countless hours the next day wet sanding and buffing.

thanks again for your opinion, it is still useless to me.

wetsanding, and buffing is easy, i have plenty of clear on my car to do so, and i don't have a single run.

if you like to paint your car, and obtain a "mirror finish"...good for you. but i guarantee you cant paint half a car, and obtain a mirror finish.

now that we have both stated our opinions, please keep this crap out of my thread.

if you want to tell me your opinion, PM me.

i used a Sata Minijet 4 in the jams, and a Devil Biss for clear. i used to do bodywork, and paint for a living up until 2 years ago, now i only do it when it needs to be done.

i don't understand why other "bodywork guys/painters" feel the need to tell every other guy how they think it should be done.

(not talking about you Rob)

because I can bet he is a youngin who just started out and is like typical young guys who think they know it all but in fact know about as much as most experienced guys have forgotten

the quiet guys usually know the most

if he knew it all he would know you can flow paint in a booth with its superior air flow better then you can on your shop floor.
