woo. Ok. Got a new keyboard last night. I spilled coffee all over my old one and shorted that bitch out. The family was not stoked.

Got busy today and took the car off the wood. Put the exhaust back on minus one can. I cut the can off at the muffler. I dont really care. I ended up bending the **** out of the pipe anyway so hacking it off seemed logical. No biggie. Eventually an apexi will replace it. Diff is full, engine is full of oil. I'm far too lazy to fix the leaky omp or oil cooler fittings at this time. It's just a little drip anyway. I'll keep an eye on it.

I haven't topped of the transmission yet though.

*************question time*********** Can i fill my transmission through the shifter hole? It's a bother to get a jack under my car now.... It wont fit. I'm too low!!!

Uh, what else did i do? I ripped a good 4 layers of skin off my index and ring finger adjusting my camber arm. The lock nut broke free pretty quickly and my hand made contact with the stub shaft. There's still skin on it right now. I was bleeding all over the place, all over myself, got blood on my tools and **** while screaming "****!" over and over again. B/c it was still a shock to me, i stayed under the car long enough to finish dialing my camber, torquing my stub shaft/cv bolts, torquing the exhaust bolts and hangers and whatnot.

Tomorrow i'm going to wire the aux ports open since i have no air pump. Blah blah blah i know i wont have any low end. It's a rotary. Big deal. I found a loose ground wire. I hope that fixes the noise issue with my head unit. probably wont b/c it's a cheap *** pyle. Little things. I noticed there was some sort of wrap on one of my fuel injectors. I'm going to investigate that b/c i'd rather not have my car burn down.

Home stretch! OMG i can't wait to drive it!

****. Oh well.

Thanks. I guess i'll crawl back under the ho tomorrow.

I've touched almost every bolt on the car that isn't attached to the engine. What's one more?

I've been working my *** off the past couple of weeks. It's paying off well. However, i still wish i would have grabbed my transmission and cv axles off the parts car before it got taken to the crusher. No biggie. They're cheap enough so if i mess something up i can grab replacements. The local FC scene isn't big but its there and much love/support.

Got bored and tried to make some ghetto hood risers. Didn't work the way i wanted so i'm going to pull the fenders and raise them at the lower part of the hinge instead. Washers. MMM. After that dissapoint i pulled out the rachet and was going to remove the port actuators and wire the ports open but wasn't motivated. Maybe tomorrow.....

Car has this stupid loud beep when i put the key in the on position. Is it normal? All the idiot lights are lit so i'm not sure what would cause that? I did have aas and unplugged it. Power doors and mirrors, all unplugged....not sure what it could be. If it comes down to it i'll hunt the speaker and cut the power to it. I'd much rather have led warning lights over that annoying beep!

Yep. Still a long way to go.

I'm curious as well of how the shimmed lsd will perform. I know it probably wont be enough lock but i cant be bothered to take it back apart and add a few more shims right now. I'll see how it is as it sits. If i dont like it, i'll pop the welded in while i dial in the lsd. I'll probably replace two of the springs and add another pair of new oversized friction plates to the stack as well. It's only like $40 i think for a pair. maybe $60. I dunno. It's been a while since i looked. These things are pretty modular. I dont see any reason for me to go aftermarket over the t2 clutch type.

Coolant buzzer, eh? I hope so. My guess is it was because i didn't have any oil in the car at the time. I haven't hooked up the battery since then.

Ordered brake pads at advanced (HOPE THEY FIT, I"LL FIND OUT MONDAY!) Couldn't find a brake line ANYWHERE at any local or not local parts store aside from the steelership but my buddy has my back (much love for fc enthused ppl in the carolinas). When that gets here it's time to fire up the car for test and tweak.

I'd say "tune" but there's really nothing that needs tuning. I bet some **** is going to be off though. Never fails. You never let a car get worked on for almost 3 seasons without being driven, put the key in and have it go off without a hitch. Not on a build of this ballerific caliber.....

*shakes head*

* Aux ports removed, zipped open *

* Battery charged *

* No warning beeps, buzzers when in the "on" postion *

* Oil filter and oil changed *

* Brake pads in hand, line on the way *

* Slapping a washer or two on my tie rods for more toe adjustment (megan racing tie rod ends are shorter than most other's, even at full "safe" toe adjust) *

Car is getting fired up and test driven this week or next week. WOOOOOOO!

Thanks!

Josh, i should be home around the normal hours i'm usually home. Weekends are no go after 4pm b/c i'm at work.

Oh yes, car fired RIGHT UP yesterday.

Here's what happened.

I sat in the car, cranked the engine for a few seconds and had fire. WOO FIRE.

It wont idle now. Not sure why. The tach worked for a second and went dead then the car died.

I fired it back up, revved it to 3k and kept it there. Tach stayed at 3k. It would bog any higher than 5k rpm and backfired like a ************ when i let off.

Then, it ran out of gas.

I looked up over the gauge cluster and saw smoke POURING from under my hood and heard the sound of bubbling/falling liquid from my car. I cut the key off, LEAP out of the car and pop my hood. SMOKE EVERYWHERE. I expected to see a huge puddle under the car, visible cracks in my rear rotor housing (b/c that's where the smoke LOOKED to be commming from. IT WAS SO THICK) or something. Really. I thought i destroyed it and got angry, sad and removed 10 rep points all at the same time.

Well, i look under the car again and notice smoke is pouring from my cat and creeping up the transmission tunnel into the engine bay. I didn't think of it at the time but i didn't smell coolant or oil. Gear oil has a smell all it's own when it burns and that was what i was smelling.

I removed the driveshaft for work last month and some oil found it's way into the heatsheild of the cat. It was still boiling in there 10 minutes after the car shut itself off.

Now, any idea why my car wont idle and bogs/backfires like woah over 5k?

Here's all i've done to the engine since i drove it home:

Flipped afm in correct position
Re attached a ground wire that was just hanging there.
Changed plugs and wires (made sure they were in the right places)
Plugged trailing coil back in (retard po had it unplugged, remember?)
Changed oil
Changed filter
Wired 5th and 6th ports open and removed actuators.

That's it. That's all i've done.

Any help would be appriciated.

if the computer took a dump, i have 2 more. If the tps took a dump...well, i guess i'll be needing one of those, wont i? Maybe adjust the idle/bac valve?

I want to drive this **** THIS MONTH! Lol!

P.S. B/c i'm done caring what people think and asking opinions, my kit and wheels are going to be a surprise. You'll find out in about 8-10 months. Sooner if i start whoring myself out.

We should start a poll then. Put my vote down for you whoring yourself out.
Looks like it's gonna be at least tomorrow before I make it up that way, fyi.

Oh yes. I'll do that tomorrow. Right after i put my tie rod spacerZ (legit washers from the hardware store) on......

That COULD be the cause of the problem 1000 percent. If it ran fine with it how it was, why did i flip it? *facepalm*

Did my front brakes in 45 minutes ish..... Still waiting on the line to come in the mail so i took it upon myself to re-bend the hard lines to fit the new mount location on my coilovers. WAS NOT FUN.

Spaced one side of the rack (now have positive toe on that side). I'll do the other side tomorrow and pull toe accordingly. Yay for adjustability!

Ok. Well, everything is done. While going out to work on the car yesterday i noticed a box sticking out of my mailbox. MY BRAKE LINE! Woot.

So, brakes are bled, i spent 5 minutes to cut the stripped rear carrier bolt out and install it's replacement.

While under the car, i noticed the play my t2 diff had in it's stubshafts is causing some fluid to leak out. No biggie. I overfilled it with the front jacked up anyway. It'll **** out and stop leaking eventually.

I moved some bump steer spacers between the knuckle and ball joint. While under the car with it on the ground i noticed my tie rods were at an up angle so i fixed that some. Lol. My control arms definately have a nice up angle to them as well. No way to fix that really, not that i care about it much anyway.

Dielectric grease was used on all spark plug wire connections. I had to use a pen cap to slide them all the way on. That might have been part of the "my car is running like ****" problem. The afm is flipped where it was before. I spent my gas money on pepsi and junk food so no test drive until monday maybe? I've got a money order for $25 bux i need to cash but have to drive to cash it. Nobody cashes moneygrams where i live. *cough* fcbluebeast *cough*

This is soo f-ing cool!

Since I wont have anything really picture worthy other than action shots and highway shots when this is over with (not until my surprise comes), i'll post up my body work. I've got alot of dents that need pulling/filling and i'm rattle-canning the car. Also doing a home depot lip if i can't find a pignose s13 lip at the junkyard when i go next month. When i'm driving, the car is going to the shop so i can do some pipe work. There's enough of it laying around or i could just buy some from advanced. They have a good bit. I also want to vent my hood and do the fixed sleepy eye mod. Piaa projector lamps should do the trick. Plus i found a set that has a built in signal marker so i can take the stock ones out and still be legal.

Insurance paperwork came in the mail. w00t. Just gotta get the title transfered from NC to SC, apply for tags and i have a car again!

OH ****!

I drove it today.

It idled up to 3k and back down to 900 and held! I let it warm up a bit, brought it up to 8k and did a few rips around the block. The low end loss from the aux port mod doesn't bother me b/c up top it is FABULOUS! Better than it was before.

The exhaust rattles so i'm going to have to use zip ties (zip ties are awesome) to supplement the hangers. I dont like that ****. No chatter from the lsd. The car grips around corners NICE and pulls a shitload harder than it did when i drove it home. First gear surprised me.
My guess is going from an n/a rear end to a T2 4:10 rear end. Better torque transfer? Yeah. I think so. However, it may be short lived b/c i think i need new clutch disks. It pulls around better than an open but it's not what i want so when i have time and a few friends handy i'm putting a welded if i dont like how it locks during drifting. I wont have the money free'd up to put new disks in for a while. I want aero more b/c the look of the car disgusts me. Priorities....

The steering is SUPER RESPONSIVE compared to what it was. I was scared at how easy it was to turn the car. U turns with the angle kit = fantastic. For that and parking alone it was worth the $200 i spent. Wont be drifting until it's tagged though. No body roll, even with the sways removed. The ride also wasn't bone jarring like i expected either. Very smooth. I like my 10 year old jic SP-1's. Very daily driver friendly.

THE BRAKES are fail. Not so much the pads, it's the pressure. I'm not getting enough. I bled them VERY well and i'm still not getting pressure until the pedal is almost to the floor. No leaks from the master cylinder, lines, calipers, or proportion valve either..... Anyone have any ideas????? HELP!!!!!

I love how my exhaust sounds with one pipe open and the other muffed. Not raspy. Not ricey. I'm VERY PLEASED with how that 5 minute job turned out.

The car does need a front end alignment. Either that or i need to reposition my steering wheel. Lol.

Oh, and my redline buzzer does not work. My guess is whoever owned the car before that jeff guy took care of it. The low oil/coolant/etc buzzer work but I reved the bitch all the way to 8k and no buzzer.

I'm stoked. Very.

If anyone wants to point me in the right direction with my brakes, dont hesitate!

Thanks guys. Thanks for all the support, kind words and constructive criticism!!!!!!

I'll look into that. Doing a search now. I HOPE that is the problem. ****'s ghey.

Camber plates came with my coilovers.

They are pillowball.

Steering is sooooo smooth! Love em!

I also lost my rear pad springs and have this irritating ******* squeel.... Time to bust out some paper clips or something..... My parts car didn't have em. My friend's asshat dad threw my **** out b/c i had my rear hub assembly's over at his house removing the dtss bushings. Oh well. Fair enough. I DID break his bench vise........

Edit: Here's what i found

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...cylinder+bleed

Now, one of my screwups i think i did was left the ebrake on.

I refuse to pull the mc off my car if i dont have to. Any way to bleed it w/o removal?

Jack your car up on all four corners and remove the wheels. Crack all four bleeder screws and keep filling the master as needed until there's a consistent flow on all four corners. Then tighten each one up and check the brake pedal pressure. Gravity bleeding is a lot more convenient in my opinion, if you have a place for the brake fluid to drip. I'm not sure if this is equivalent to bench bleeding.

That should fix your spongy brake pedal feel.

I hope so.

I'll try it. Thanks for the tip.

I gotta jack it up anyway and top of the gear oil, plus change my moms oil plus mow my lawn......so i guess i'll do that **** first.

Update: Car might be getting completed sooner than expected. I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch though.

By completed i mean 100% done to my liking inside and out. Depends on some legal crap my family is stuck in. We'll see.

I gravity bled the system then bled normally. There was ALOT of air in my right rear and left front calipers.

It stops fine now. Better once the pads break in.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

The story goes:

I was changing my mom's oil waiting for the brakes to bleed out. There was no oil to put in my moms car. Advanced is right next to my house. So, i put my car on the ground, slapped her plate on it and went to advanced to buy some oil for her car.

Then, i went by the industrial area on the other side of my neighborhood.

Did a simple clutch drop from a stop, applied counter, upshift, clutch kick, transition, donut exit drift. The exit was twitchy. I ended up oversteering a bit. I'm not used to that steering wheel just yet.

Point is the car EASY to control in a slide. LSD locks up fine so i dont need to pull that off for another shim session. I mean, i really think i dont need anything else. A better clutch and a seat would help alot. Yes, i went street swangin.

I dont condone it but i HAD to see how my lsd was going to perform and if my modded driveshaft/half shafts were going to break or not. The car is AWESOME and i'm happy with how it drives! I'm not cranking it up again UNTIL THERE IS A LEGAL TAG ON IT! Now we gotta work on looks. Face it. **** is ratty and stock s4 doesn't do this car justice.

I'm trying to find an aero distributor near by so i can pay less for a kit than i would having it shipped.

Oh yeah, my front tires are STILL rubbing fender. Gotta pull out the rolling pin again. I wouldn't do it if the sound didn't annoy me. Also got to cut an exhaust hangar off b/c it's hitting the frame and sounds terrible as well. I thought my coilovers were unseating!
