Rx7 Fc 13B turbo premixing fuel

Hello! I'm quite new to the forum and I have just bought my first '88 Rx7 Fc. Could someone advise me on what type of oil I should use to premix, and how much. So far, I have found I should use 0.5oz to 1oz of 2 stroke oil per gallon of fuel. Is this ok with a working omp? Do I need to use synthetic or conventional oil? Fill me in.

Who knows? Nobody can agree on if it's ok to mix with a working OMP or what type of oil to use. Personally I premix with my working OMP about 60% to 80% of the time. I read on here years ago 400:1 with a working OMP which going by this calculator Premix Calculator is 0.32oz. per gallon. No OMP is 100:1. As to Oil I use Super Tech most of the time but sometimes I get Penzoil or Evenrude outboard oil. I just get what's cheapest most times. Just make sure it's TC-W3 certified. Others will argue only use the expensive Idemistu Rotary premix.

1/2 Oz per gallon with a working OMP is fine. The only problems it will cause is a clogged catalytic converter. If that isn't a factor it will run just fine.

Working OMP ? 1/2 oz per gallon Tcw3 rated oil.
OMP removed? 1oz per gallon Tcw3.
Race car seeing 10k rpms?? up to 2 or more oz per gallon.

It CAN shorten life of catalytic converters.

I personally run 1oz per gallon of Idemitsu Rotary premix with NO OMP, NO Catalytic Converter, Regularly revving high in the power band and have had no problem in 1500 miles of owning my car.

When I ran with an omp, I got the cheap stuff (supertech tcw3) from Walmart and ran .5oz per gallon and it was just fine. Now that I have removed the omp and the car is a weekend warrior and sees the drag strip, I still run the cheap stuff but at 2oz per gallon and no issues at all. Also I don’t have cats.
