Premixing clogging fuel filter??

Thanks to Intense_Motorsports I learned that I had a major oil leak coming from my omp lines. Therefore, the omp lines were blocked off and now I'm premixing. But ever since I've started premixing I've gone thru three fuel filters in the past (+or-)300 miles. I pour in on avg 1 oz per gallon, usually more by mistake but I figured it doesn't hurt if there is a little more right?

the wrong pre-mix will clog filters very very easy. Seen that a lot on people using motorcycle pre-mix in fuel injected cars.

TCW3 rated pre-mix, is a good start... what are you using?

How are you concluding it's the fuel filter that's bad?

I'd have to get back to u on the exact brand, it's just the cheapest 2 stroke I can find at a local gas station, , I'm guessing Napa or Autozone will have this TCW3 rated premix? I'm bout to order some Idemitsu but just want somethin good until then...

Cuz when I replace the filter it starts right up, and it never had a starting problem before I started premixing

idk, I've been using the two stroke from Advance and O'Reilly and haven't had any problems like this, and it's been several thousand miles since I started premixing (and the OMP was gone, too. some people premix + OMP).

There are a lot of crappy pre-mixes out there that have a major amount of paraffin and funky *** additives... that could be causing the problem, particularly if you are mixing the pre-mix and also adding other gas additives including gas cleaners and things like MMO.

But, I would more bet, that the fuel sock in the gas tank has been lost and you run the tank low on fuel, and are sucking up the crap from the bottom of the tank.

Have you checked the tank, and in tank fuel sock? If there is a bunch of dirt in the tank, you will need to drain and clean it.

Run the fuel low, that I do, lol... can't remember the last time it's been past a half a tank, and that was when gas prices were bout 2$ haha. if the premix doesn't get it, ur prolly right bout the tank, 192,000+ miles, prolly needs a cleaning

WOW!! That's a lot of mileage. Mine is at 100,000 now. When do you need to mix gas and oil trough the tank?

Since my omp line were broke I have to "premix" every fill up so that the apex seals are still getting lubricated or the engine will wear down very quickly. If ur lookin into doin this be sure to put about 1/2-1oz to every gallon of gas

I've never had a problem with my super cheap Wal-Mart off-brand (blue jug I think) pre-mix. Can't get much cheaper than that...

I'm all for the you're sucking crap in out of the fuel tank. I've actually have a car that had a hole in the fuel sock, making this even worse.

never figured out wut the problem was, tried the tcw3 rated premix... several days later the car didn't start... friend of mine took off the filter and blew some air thru it, fuel came out clean.. he checked the gas tank for build up and then I checked the fuel pump for pressure and everythin was good...They've got a mind of their own i guess, lol
