premix?

Im waiting to get my new car back from the body shop and im trying to get everything ready so when it does it is ready to drop in. my question is did anyone ever come up with a way to run the oil metering pump or are we still needing to premix. If so what mixtures are you guys using?

do you just dump in 200ml whenever you fill up or do you mix per gallon?

I just dump per tankful/fill up. I'm not always totally empty but it seems to be fine as a bit extra won't hurt the engine.

On another note, my friend that track races his car does pre mix due to using jerry cans at the track and not having a gauge in his fuel cel.

Is anyone even looking into building a controller for the OMP so we can not premix if we so choose?

well there are ecu's that do control the omp.. Wolf, AEM, Pi, Motec, etc...

ever noticed any shiny areas around the oil hole on the housing?
...some seem to think the oil is *not* disburse evenly.

welllll.... be creative and you *could* piggy back the stock ecu.
i've got enough data to take a semi-educated guess at building an OMP profile for an ECU but you'll still need an ECU advanced enough to control that stepper motor based on X,Y,Z & a combination of A+B, etc..

are you complete against premixing? take a look at an engine that was only premixed vs. omp. you might be surprised to know that the OMP isnt as effective as properly premixing. OMP is still really effective however.

no im not against it i just want to try to simplify the car as possible. im going to premix either way i just would like to run the omp so if i forgot to bring the premix to the pumpi could still limp home without causing damage.

personally thats never happen to me. i've always bought some 2cycle oil from the gas-station (when in a bind) or have had my own. you may be able to work with someone to design a small computer to control the OMP provided a few inputs.

Just premix. Is it really worth damage to your expensive 20b because the omp failed or some program your rigging failed? It doesn't take that long to premix. I do it all the time and just like anything else in your life, you just have to remember to do it. If you have a hard time remembering then just keep a couple bottles in your car at all time.

highly doubtful.... i typically add 1oz for every 1gal of fuel i add to the car - kinda hard to add too much following that ratio.

so you can vary your amount (based on the smoke coming from the car).
say you're at the pump and only add 6gals of fuel... well just add 6oz of 2stroke oil.
thats pretty easy for me to remember.

I have taken apart my 13b and premixed the motor u will be amazed on how the rotor housing look compaired to using the oem oil injection. All I have to say is I will forever premix!!! There is a reason why u have 2 bins in the back. Use it and keep 2cyl oil in it.

i found 6 ounce bottles at target for travel shampoo, i fill up several with idemitsu premix and add i bottle to the gas tank with every fill up, and i fill up at 1/4 tank, which is usually 12 gallons. it works for me.

i usually buy a big 8 or 10 gallon of 2 stroke synthetic oil from a marina (boat shop) and i use empty quarts of oil and fill them up with the 2 stroke and store 2 or 3 in my bin.
