20B front plate has bolts going through it from the front, the 13b all the bolts are installed from the rear plate

Same base casting, machined different tension bolt setups.
The onlt difference I can see is the Race set comes with 4 more studs. Two to replace the short bolts and 2 bolts in the lower outside corners.

but why on the race 12.7mm stud kit does it say 13B cosmo front plate?
Do you have to use the cosmo 13B front plate for the race 12.7mm stud kit?
Is there a reason why the 13B cosmo front plate is better???
I feel there is a reason why the race stud kit tells you to use a 13b cosmo front plate for the 20B

13b Cosmo plate has the same diameter intake runner as the 20b front plate..
You do not have to use 13b Cosmo plate if you have a 20b front plate on hand.
Both plates 13b cosmo and 20b plates will have to be reamed for the 12.7 mm stud kit..

Hope that helps

Thanks TO SLOW but its still not helping me out. If you click on the link There's 2 diffrent 12.7mm stud kits for the 20b.
One is
20B 12.7mm stud kit (20B front plate) $595
The other is
20B 12.7mm Race stud kit (13B Cosmo front plate) $625

one is regular oversized stud kit the other is a race oversized stud kit. Im trying to figure out why the Race Stud Kit says 13B Cosmo front plate.
Its just driving me nuts I feel there has to be a reason why for the race stud kit they use a 13B cosmo front plate. Cuz if not then why didnt they call both of them race kits??????

Shoot them an Email.
There should be no reason you can't use the Race set with the 20b front plate.
I have the regular 12.7 kit, they did not offer the race kit at the time.

Ok I got what you asking now.. The race stud kit comes with 21 long studs and 4 short studs..

Where the regular stud kit comes with 11 long studs 7 short rear mounted and 7 shorter front mounted studs.

The machining process is different on the race stud kit that's why is asks for a 13b Cosmo front plate..

You welcome

thank you now i get it. it had me confused i guess the shorter the bolt the harder it is to flex it so thats prob the reason they use the cosmo 13B front plate for the shorter bolts

front the pics i counted
the extra long studs are even. both have 5
The long studs the race one has 11 the regular one has 9 thats why you have to use the cosmo 13b front plate im guessing.
The small ones are the same both have 2
And the Race one has 2 extra small ones
