The intake was a custom deal I made a while ago. It used tweak-it throttle bodies and a cast intake manifolds for 13b's. It was alot of work to make, and I wont ever go down that road again. It did work very well however.

Obligatory Plea for Video

Gto,

That streetfire.com video got my blood boiling with excitement just listening to the way God intended engines to sound (back before it was removed from their site).

I think it's pretty obvious that everyone wants to see video of this thing when you fire it up and take it for a spin, so you don't need me to chime in asking for videos.

So when you make videos, can I request that they not be posted only on Youtube (or similar Flash-based streaming sites)? I speak for myself and at least a few of my friends when I say that I would very much like to see the video at whatever original resolution the camera shoots, at as high a bitrate as possible. I have several years of video transcoding experience, and would be happy to help with making the (normally large) higher-resolution files small enough to be reasonable for internet use as well as hosting, if such help is desired.

Sorry if this seems a bit whiny or off-topic but I'm just really *that* passionate about sharing the awesomeness of what you're doing with your car in all its glory, especially the sound.

Thanks in any case, and keep the news/pics/etc. coming!

not a problem, once Trjackson combines some footage, we will let you know I can promise that way more videos will be made this year, vs. two years ago.

Re: Videos

Cool. Will they be downloadable high-res files this time, instead of videos posted to a streaming site? I'd be happy to host them, if that would help.

I want to make DVDs of your car to share with friends, so the bigger the files are, the better (as far as I'm concerned)...

Sorry guys, I have been extremely busy/lazy this week. Wow, that is somewhat of a oxymoron. I will get to it soon enough guys. I promise. In the meantime, Logan, Peter, and myself will be happy to answer any questions about the car.

Thanks.

Jackson

this is page 23 for me i stopped reading at 9 iam going to finish reading.

first i think its amazing motor and car that you built. i dont care that you spent 12k or no money. if you like what you paid for thats the point. i cant belive some of the stuff you did ect .
some people think iam dumb for buying a 1980 rx7 for 1500$ that needs a 1/4 panle fixed ect. but you know what it was the best deal i could get. some people think iam dumb for not going to do a 13bTT swap ect. iam still working on my car's suspension at the moment.motor is last for me.id rather be able to have a car that handles great befor i upgrade for power, and most people feel the same. why would you want to spend a **** load to get hp when your just going to crash it. i dont have any def plans for the motor turbo or sc i dont know yet. people think iam dumb for spending my hard earn cash on it but i in joy it.

the one thing i dont like about this thread is the bashing of the 2.3 motor.pages 7-9 from what i read.(am talking about the motor not bashing people) yes its based on a pinto motor bored out from 2.0 to 2.3. but its a good motor. me and my buddy are rebuilding moding a 1984 rs turbo capri(mercury fox body). heck all the car people i know think me and my buddy are dumb for doing and tell us to turn it in to a mustang, but were keeping it a rs turbo capri because of how rare the car is. but you know what its our car. we got it befor i got my rx. i never thought i could buy a rx on my pay but i found a deal on a frist gen.

any ways with 2.3 you can make good power cheap. i talk to people on mustang forums thats are pushing 700hp and the motor is safe. i like this motor because i can get good parts cheap because my step dad works at a place that sells parts to garges and fleet cars ect. so i get every thing at cost. even if i didnt have that hook up the motor parts are faily cheap which is a good thing. o yeah about it being just a sohc, for 300$ (cost of a volvo head pluse what ever it cost me to weld on it(iam a welder) we can make it a dohc 16v(mustang guys have done this for a few years) . we have two motors for the car the stockish sohc was blown after rebuilding it with a new stock head custom pistons cost under 3k.around 350 to 450 hp depends on what we go for on boost #.i have met guys running 35 psi on the street and the motor takes it . the dohc motor is going to cost slightly less be cause the block was mint still running pulled from a b2300 when its done where hoping for 500+ on the smae boost levels , and these are real world number no guessing .

the reason iam saying this is because i do not think it is fair for any one to bash a motor or a car if its not there's or they never worked with one. i hate honda kids but i dont hate there car's one friend that isnt a ricer is putting out 450 on a b16. only motors i would bash is the 307 in my old cutlass because it blew up on me. just because its not a 12 13b or 20b does not mean its ****. i dont like 350's because every one has them.but there great motor's. i know what i know from what i have done and worked with. i dont bash on any ones car or motor. its there they like it. what iam trying to say is why bash some ones setup. its not your they did it there way because they wanted to.

sorry for posting on an old thread but i just read all of these 23 page. Great setup, this is what i plan to do with my fd also. i was wondering on your to buy kit would it be possible to just retain the original alternator location and have no power steering and ac, would the mount be sold separate from the kit?
