By the way, I'm planning on eventually doing an FC version of your car... naturally-aspirated 3-rotor. I'm looking for a reliable, fun rotary that I can drive every day. So naturally, by the time I get around to it, if your FC kit is done by then, I will DEFINITELY be hitting you up.

Damn, read 21 pages and was hoping for power numbers on the PP. Assuming a person didn't tear down the engine for an upgrade how many miles of hard driving do you expect a PP NA20b to give ?

Ive got a project FD sitting at my house now and getting it ready for a NA 20b. I will be talking with you soon.

 

A semi p-port 20B will last a very long time. The turbo rotaries (aka 20b's) have a MUCH stronger and durable chromium coating, than the n/a counterparts. A build with these housings and the 2 piece stock seals, semi p-port, I would est. 80,000+ miles of hard driving. Normal/hard driving should exceed 150,000 miles.

 

this project looks insane... you said ti was the 20b engine right? that's nuts... i can't wait to see what else you do with it.... this kind of car is going to catch eyes like crazy yo, good work.

 

definitely let me know when you got some of the FC stuff ready. I just bought my E11v2 flying lead kit that I'm installing on the n/a 2 rotor for gas mileage (50 miles one way to work every day), as well as to learn tuning a little bit. Should have the money for the 20b in about 3 months if all goes to plan (yeah, right...).

Also, does anyone know where to get my rotors lightened and the rotating mass balanced? Personally, I'm kinda cheap and my rotors are in good shape, so I don't really want to pay for brand new RB super lightweight rotors.

 

If all goes well, we will have the ability to lighten, balance, clearance, and more to any rotor assembly. It will be alot cheaper, and much much faster than most companies I've delt with.

I'll second the request for proper videos. I was totally bummed when I realized that the torrent posted earlier in the thread is ~2 years old and (understandably) dead these days...

I'd host vids for everyone if somebody will send them to me. Preferrably very large files. I also wouldn't mind transcoding DV footage down to a more manageable size without losing significant quality.

Let me know how I can be useful.

 

Its looking much better than before now, I just have to assemble the engine, and install the new EMS, maybe I have some first run shots to put up soon!

We get rotors done by CLR, and this does look similar, but the location is different from what I have seen in person. So who knows......

Yep, drysump. Should allow the engine to stay happy at high rpms.

Alright, the bitch is up and running! I have put 50 miles on it so far, and it seems to be doing good. I am running a stock 20b intake until the new ITB's are completed which makes me very sad to even show a engine bay pic. But I probably still will haha, just dont judge it!!

Now, next question..... should I continue in this thread, or start a new one??

Alright. The p-port are still non-working until the entire new intake setup is completed. But they will be a staged system, and I will experiment with rpms until its optimal.

 

Is that where my intake is?!!!!

 

Are you still using Semi PP's? I have something similar brewing.
