Team Track Car (1)---- N/a 3-rotor FD

Some of you guys have seen my car in its first version. I soon wanted to improve the setup further, and took everything apart to build the second version. The purpose of our personal track cars is simple. The try experimental ideas, and do research to test out changes that we learn. Then, once proven, we apply everything that works to our customers. Of course the sheer enjoyment is also great.

So here are some build-up pics. And its still not yet complete, as I am using a stock intake manifold. A throttle body setup will be in place soon, and then the semi p-ports will finally get to breathe.

And here are the dyno results. 313 Rwhp and 221 rwtq. I was surprised the stock intake mani was able to make this much power out of it. The highest I've seen prior is in the 245-250rwhp and 179 rwtq on a dyno-jet.

I will be going to a friends shop soon to make a pull on a dyno jet. Should be in the 340rwhp range.

Specs of my car-

C series 20b
Defined Auto street port
Defined Auto custom headers, and full exhaust
Defined Auto strut brace
Defined Auto Ducting and radiator setup
Electromotive Tec3R (very nice ecu)
Stock intake, shortened by Defined Auto
Racing Gear coilovers
Kaaz custom 2-way LSD
Delrin bushings
Defined Auto 20b conversion kit
Fluidyne radiator
Setrab oil coolers
Setrab p.s cooler
Mazdaspeed Drysump (thanks Carlos)
NRS 2mm 2-piece ceramic seals
9.7:1 lightened, clearance, balanced rotors by CLR motorsports
Race bearings
In car Fire system
Defined Auto plug wires
Custom carbon gauge cluster, and carbon din with switch panel
5 zigen FN01R-C wheels

Im amazed the stock intake supported that much power/torque N/A. If Im not mistaken thats only about 35HP shy of what you made before the teardown, correct? God I cant wait until I get back on my feet financially so I can get back to my N/A 20B dreams again.

Yeah, only 35 hp short of the horsepower made vs my triple 55mm throttle setup two years ago. I think our new porting style, and electromotive ecu with inductive coils may be partially responsible for getting so much from so little. With any luck, the new intake, and p-ports un-capped might net 400+. Only 87hp to go!

Drysump setup is pricey to say the least. For a 13B the front cover with rear reg. suction tubes, screens, o-rings, and drive gear is $3,200.00 Then you will need a drysump tank all the lines and fittings ect. It will get into the 4k range pretty easy.

Dont worry, the new intake setup is near. AGM just finished the machine work on these.....

Wow. I dont think Ive ever seen that kind of throttle body used on a car. Or used on anything, for that matter. Cant wait to see 6 velocity stacks sticking out from that thing. Awesome car.

keep up the nice work!

a lot of people only need 300-400 hp, so why bother with all the extra crap you need to go turbo.

And then there is the other argument "but a 13b turbo can easily do that"... well, thats a turbo and the idea is to do it with no turbos

If you built a car similar to this you would understand.

This car is very responsive and has a very linear strong pull.

I can only imagine what 10 will sound like...not to mention the new intake setup. It already sounds like an ALMS car. I wish the camera could capture the sound of it better.
