Microtec LT16 and 20b sensors

Hey guys,

I'm trying to get organized for installing the LT16 on my 3 rotor.

I'd like to buy new sensors for everything on the engine to work with the LT16.

Factory TPS for a rotary works TB, and what IAT and coolant temp sensor? Prefer to watch temp at the back of the engine, but I'm not so sure about how good the factory sensor is..

What should I get and from where that's gonna work best with the 20b and the LT16?

Any of you 20b gurus got any experience on configuration?

Thanks...

If you have a Microtech, you must use the sensors it came from the factory calibrated for. Usually this is the OEM sensors, but it depends on what the original order specified.

Hmm, I figured it was interchangeable stuff.. I ordered it with a factory 20b calibration, I didn't specify any aftermarket sensors or anything..

This is my first experience with Microtec, the other stuff I've used you could calibrate new sensors in the software..

Can I order an FD IAT and CTS from Mazda? Same parts?

The 20B uses a N326 IAT sensor (S4NA part). You can use a FD one, but I am not sure if they are calibrated the same. Has a different connector too. As for a Coolant Temperature Sensor, one from a LS2 Corvette works well. Same M12x1.5 threads as the stock Mazda sensor, connector can be found at any Autozone, they're cheap & common and there should already be a calibration file made for it.

This is priceless information. You are a boss.

Got to note this down for my LTX12 install.

What about TPS? Interchangeable?

The FD and FC/Cosmo air temp sensors have a different curve. They are not interchangeable for use with a Microtech that is programmed for FC/Cosmo sensors.

The GM coolant sensor has a different curve as well. As above, not interchangeable.

TPS is TPS. Anything will work.

Just bought a new FC air temp sensor from Malloy for a MT install. It was $60-something shipped.

Malloy Mazda. Do a search for them and/or Ray Crowd, their parts manager. Email or call an they'll get you squared away. Short of a Mazda speed Motorsports account, you won't find better pricing and service on stock parts.

Any ideas where to find replacement water temp sensor 20b specific? Will the s4 have the same curve?

When you installed the MT, which water temp sensor did you use from the factory 20b long block? I've heard people mention one on the rear of the motor, but the guys at teameunos hinted at the temp sensor behind the factory waterpump housing being the sender to the ECU input. Is this correct?
