Thumbs down

Iv'e been quietly reading this whole 20B debacle between Red RX7 and MVA motorsports for months now and have some comments. Red rx7 has shelled out alot of money to MVA for this 20B project and has nothing to show for it except serious grief. Why anyone would spend a single cent let alone entrust MVA to perform any work on their car is beyond me!!! I don't give a rats *** who in the partnership is at fault, bottom line is Red Rx7 has taken a severe financial loss on this whole project. So they're all responsible as far as I'm concerned. And then to grind iodized salt into the wound, MVA has the ***** to showcase a 20B RX8 that they built in little to no time at all and has even bigger ***** to tell everyone that it's non of their business what they do with an rx8. God damn, people, open your eyes!!! This is not rocket science, it's extreemly bad business practice!! If MVA has any remorse in Red Rx7's project, they should finish his car at no additional cost to him period. MVA, you guys have really shown what your made of here on this forum and it isn't much. Prediction, you won't be doing to many more 20b conversions if any in this life time. Red RX7, cut your loses, get what little is left of your car and devote your time into steering people away from this bullshit kind of business practice. Jeeeez

Maybe you should ask why Marcos @ Acosta Motorsports hasn't delivered the car yet. And that prolly isn't RedRX7s 20B in the RX-8. He has 4-5 20Bs sitting in his garage anyway. I should know, when I rebuilt my 20B I needed a good 20B rotor housing. Marcos had a hand full just sitting around. Also you when you tend to PAY for a job it gets delivered to you. I PAID for all the work Marcos did for me when it was done. I didn't expect to make a deposit on a job and then when it was done and still owed $15,xxx.xx dollars ask if I could make payments on it. When you get into a financial arrangement you had better have the necessary funds available upfront. I know if someone owed me a bunch of money for something I worked on I would expect to get paid in full or hold onto that item as collateral until it was paid for. I think that there is alot going on here that isn't or hasn't been brought to light on this subject on both sides of the story. And for people to just jump in and start acusing people of this or that or saying that something should be done for free doesn't make any sense.

For example, if I think that I should get a free RX-8 from Mazda and if I talk bad enough about the company and start a thread about it and get everyone all fired up doesn't mean that I deserve the car and they should give it to me for free. You know darn well that it won't happen until I give them the $30K for the car. They won't give it to me just because I haven't paid for it and do alot of complaining on this forum. I don't know Red RX7 from Adam, but I do know both of the parties that he has been involved with. And, if I had my own business and knew everything about the stunts that have been pulled a couple of times, I wouldn't touch the car with a 10 ft pole. But hey that's just my $.02.

Maybe to clear this whole thing up, Marcos and RedRX7 should have a wide open discussion right here and everyone should tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth............................................. ........

Actually, Derrick, you don't know jack about either deal.

Your buddy Tito outright screwed me. Regardless what he thinks in his mind, I have paperwork and signatures to document all of it. I am glad you have a good relationship with him, but when it comes down to it I have his own signature and business information regarding a set of parts. All the rest is hearsay which he is pulling out of his ***.... or if you believe him, my own. Either way, all actions, paperwork, emails, letters, phone calls, etc were lead one way. When he got offended that I wanted to use a different subframe setup he tried to slander my name. Yeah, real great huh.

You do not know me, and please don't assume to either.

And what is this statement:

"Also you when you tend to PAY for a job it gets delivered to you. I PAID for all the work Marcos did for me when it was done. I didn't expect to make a deposit on a job and then when it was done and still owed $15,xxx.xx dollars ask if I could make payments on it. "

I am curious on what you are leading to. Who told you this? To be honest, MVA's Partners stole 12,500 cash + near 10,000 USD parts, not including the damage done to the car when I recovered it.

Now, it is being handled. I sympathise with the Acostas for what DID occur. Marcos Acosta did seem to be sorry for uncontrolled actions, and said he would make it right. Shame on me if I get screwed twice. I belive the Acostas will make the situation right to thier ability.

Now, please answer my question (who told you this, where you leading to).

Maybe you should ask Marcos to answer your question.

BTW: Derreck, I did speak to Marcos and he indicates he never said anything such to you regarding:

" I didn't expect to make a deposit on a job and then when it was done and still owed $15,xxx.xx dollars ask if I could make payments on it. "

So again, I ask the same question. BTW, I do not indent to come off harsh; but you have no idea the troubles this project has caused me personally.

Well Red, all I can say is I'm glad your project is coming to some kind of resolution, I know it's been a emotional roller coaster for all parties invovled, I will say this though I will NEVER send my car off to ANY shop unless I can drive to that shop whenever I felt the need. Hope to see you @ the next Rotary Revolution, I should have my car finish'd by then.

RED-RX-7: Mike you know we didn't steal any parts nor did we steal any of your money.

My EX-partner has your parts and you know that mike. You also know since we are goin to court with him I CAN'T WALK IN HIS COMPANY AND SAY THIS IS MIKE.

That is why i ask you to come to NJ so you can walk in and get you parts back.

IF YOU DONT DO THAT. THEN THE PARTS THAT ARE MISSING ARE GOIN TO HAVE TO BE BOUGHT AGAIN.

Another thing. ON the deposit you gave me. WE TOLD YOU WE WOULD HONORED THAT MONEY.

BUT IF YOU DONT GET THOSE PARTS BACK. YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY THE NEW BALANCE INSTATE OF THE OLD BALANCE THAT YOU OWE.

SO PLEASE DO NOT SAY I STOLE YOUR MONEY NOR YOUR PARTS. AND YOU KNOW DAMN RIGHT I NEVER DAMAGE THAT CAR.

FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO SEE MIKES CARS HOW IT SITS RIGHT NOW IN MY SHOP, HE IT IS.

ANY ONE IS WELCOME TO COME SEE IT AT THE SHOP.

Marcos,
Mike did not accuse you of stealing parts or money. He was very plainly talking about your business partner. I strongly suggest editing your post to reflect that fact...

MVA... and Mike..

Mike.. I met you before and i heard portion of it before.. and I feel for you.. and the frustration you might be going thru..

MVA.. I'm slightly confused about this.. You can not expect a customer to fly to NJ to pick up some parts..
First of all, if my understanding is correct, the car was in your (you and your partner's) possession before your personal/company problem.. And there for you are still responsible.. Unless you are willing to pay for Mike's flight and time to come to NJ to pick up his parts from your ex-partner... If thats the case.. then I'm sorry for this post.. otherwise, you need to take a hit to get Mike's car finished.. thats the right way to do it.. And then goto the court and add the expenses on to your suit against your partner.... It is ultimately your ex-partner that cause this problem as you say.. so, at the end you should get this back.. and Mike shouldn't wait until all settles.. It just don't make sense for him to suffer thru with you.. As saying.. Customer comes first.. Unless this doesn't apply in this case???

And I am taking the Acostas up on the flight prices. I never declined it, but rather knew it would be taken care of in the end with all other stuff.

The problem was that I cant get anything from this guy, for he has nothing; or it is stored away in some garage only known to him.

The Acostas are sending me lawyer information (still waiting) so I can persue this route as well. It has been tried before, but since he was found I can push mine too.

Mike

i dont know man ...to me it still sounds wierd ...i think the problem between acosta and his partner should be exactly that between him and his partner not between him his partner and mike .....jeez give the guy a break i know how frustrating it can be doing the 20b swap let alone getting stuck in all this bullshit ......dude i hope you get through this before the rx7 becomes a antique
