..

My car is on perm hold as of now. I have lost so much money, time, effort, and health to just "start over" again.

As it sits, I have nothing. I need money to do it all over again. I am trying to persue the legal route against the other co-owner, but it looks like he is filing bankruptcy and therefore leaves me with nothing.

This project has been a total loss thus far. To continue to the project, I need the following:

- Engine & Engine work.
- Fuel supply and all related components.
- All electronic components.
- All piping / fitting pieces.
- Bunch of other odds and ends.

Really, the car is a shell with an intercooler and radiator. It has nothing else.

Maybe I need a sponsor to donate? Or win the lottery.

I don't understand why you didn't just go to a reputable shop like Pettit or PFS that has actually produced a 20B RX-7.

... Many reasons really. I got screwed in TX already on the 20b, and while they haven't had a 20B rx7 they have done quite a few 20b projects.

The reputation was based on a few factors, ie name and other securities. But regardless, what is done is done right? The Acosta themselves didn't screw me, it was the business that screwed me. To further define, it was the other 1/2 of the business that did it... But please do not be mistaken, for the Acostas were entrusted with the vehcile and money.

Either way...

Mike

Unhappy WTF

Red-Rx7 this is just horrible news. I was hoping like so many others here on the forum that all we needed was a little patience in this area and the shop would release an angry tarmac eating beast on the streets. Once again I'm sorry to hear the news. Sponsorship seems like the best option at this point, oh and legally pursuing the issue as well.

True enough. I've had some difficulties on my project, too, but at least I didn't have anybody just walk away with any parts or money.

Funny, for this is the second time it has happened with this 20b project.

Short of killing him, I guess I will sue the guy. But then he files bankruptcy and I am still screwed.

I hate people sometimes.

You can still have access to his assests if he is bankrupt. Check local laws. better yet get a good lawyer.

Exactly. He may or may not have incorporated, which will make a big difference. Also, make sure you file criminal charges as well as civil (assuming your lawyer thinks this is a good idea). It is getting more common nowadays to make convicts pay back some or all of what they stole by enrolling them in work programs. You may get a $30 check every 4 months, but at least it's something.

Wow, I just got through reading this thread and I see there was alot of controversy.

IMHO, If you are going to have a highly modified, high performance vehicle, you should either:

A) Know enough to do the work YOURSELF.

or

B) Have enough money to not worry about having to pay someone to work on your highly customized car.

In regard to A and B, what are you going to do if something goes wrong and you don't have the money? Just paying for parts is a whole lot better than parts and labor.

The Story

EpitrochoidMan I know you're coming in a little late on this thread, if you really want to get a feel for this story. Please read part 1 it starts off and as a great action adventure read a real page-turner, but slowy turns into a melodramatic tragedy. It's more than just choose A or B.

I will not post up any of those info to the Public , I dont like writting about customer cars with out there permission, The only reason Mikes cars is not down cause BOTH parties agreed to stop the project ( Mike and I) Now BOth parties have agreed again to finish the project.

And many of you ask y I'm working on The RX-8. Well dont need to sound bad or anything but, that's no body business what i do with the rx-8 or not. Any more question you guys have about Mike's Rx-7 ask him, He is the only one that has the right to talk about it.

That is a VERY good point. But the problem has been a large amount of "lack of" information publicized.

While it is still not the correct time nor place to get publically involved, the owners of "Acosta Racing" didn't intentionally (all that I am aware of; aka anything is possible; and to what I feel) put me through what THAT company did.

Thus far, "Acosta Racing" is attempting to "make things right". Yet, in doing so, I still suffer large losses.

But, we will resume the project; maybe next spring it will be on the roads.

Mike

Mike glad to see that your project is back underway, I remember how ****'d you were when we talk'd @ RX7 Revolution last year. I'm almost @ a point where I can start install'ing my motor, just waiting on my fab guy to finish the subframe. Maybe we can both show off our cars @ one of the events next year . Again, glad to hear you are still in good spirit about the whole situation. PM me sometime to let me know how everything is coming and tell Art that my engine bay will be BLING'IN like his soon ,till next time.

John
