water in exhaust 12A

my dad took the header off the race car and he says there's water coming from the front. the front exhaust port is damp, but the smaller hole has water draining out. is a coolant seal blown or is there some sort of normaility to this. before he took the header off, he started it and some water was spitting out the tail pipe. no smoke tho because we don't run antifreeze. and isn't that small hole for like EGR or something? would that mean there might be a leak in the intake manifold gasket?

help would be appreciated
Thanks,
Craig

im guessing a coolant oring in your intake is the problem, try replacing the old ones with 2 new coolant o-rings and buy a new intake gasket. I think its leaking and it looks like coming from the exhaust but its really leaking down from the intake manifold

so, you think water is getting in the intake or is water leaking into the EGR passages? because all the way at the back of the car, it leaves water splatter on the concrete. actually, it's more of a dark water cause of the soot in the exhaust pipes.

Water is leaking into the intake. There's 2 coolant o-rings behind the intake. Those are probabally bad. Still available from Mazda, and pretty cheap.

Craig, take a look at the top of the intake where it joins the rotor housing. I have anti freeze in my race car at this time & when I turn the heat on in the garage anti freeze will leak upwards into the little pockets at the joining of the intake & the rotor housing. I presume it's the o-rings others have talked about & I will change the o-rings & gasket.

Have Fun ; )

I thought that the water was due mostly to condensation. Is this not the case? If so, then I guess I might have a problem too. -- Could this be the cause of a rough idle that occasionally has a miss when warming up?
