I think, if you really have the money and your 84 is basically stock, go with the supercharger. As time goes by and the sc is still in good shape and you are ready to upgrade to turbo, you can always sell the sc and still get decent cash for the turbo funds. People are willing to buy a sc on the daily if it is cheaper than the original price.

Direct Freak, sorry for my ignorance but where exactly will this drag race be held? I would like to see this in person. Oh, and to contribute to the thread after actually purchasing a camden supercharger and coming very close to installing it I was scared off by threads that focused on how hot supercharged engines run and lack of ways to intercool the charge. I ended up with a 13brew with single turbo. It will be dynoed with in the next few weeks and I will post the result. My builder has estimated 380hp which is alot more then 225hp.

There was a couple of pains on the supercharger my brother had.

1).TPS was weird with the supercharger and it would idle 500rpm up and down. This was on his 90 2nd gen with fuel injection.

2).Belt slipping and having to tighten it up. We had too tighten it up every two weeks. Sometimes more because it just kept coming loose. It was probally just the belt but I dunno.

That was the only problems we had. It made 14's at the track with stock ported stock fuel injectors and a camden on there.

Great acceleration and stuff it threw me back in the seat. This is a video of him and his girlfriend. Dont ask...............

Heres what it sounds like on idle.
