Traction Bars
Has anyone thought of a traction bar design for our cars? because I have a serious wheel hop issue when I take my car to the 1/4mile

My car acts like it has traction bars, it's a gsl-se so maybe try finding a gsl-se in a junkyard and use them? i never get tire hop going forward but when i'm in reverse and give it gas i get wheel hop like crazy... i'm assuming gsl-se came stock with traction bars.

15.043 @ 89.11mph
This is at palmdale about 2000+ft above sea level so I can't get the greatest times but I feel that the car can run faster.
Also I'm going through the traps in 3rd gear @ 7400. If shift info 4th it'll bog me down. This is on street tires. Shifting @ 7200.

If by "Traction bars" you mean slapper bars, they would not be hard to fab up, but they are a band-aid solution.
The problem is most likely linked to the bushings or even u-joints being shot...not to mention the crappy design of the stock rear suspension...
Hopefully some real suspension pros will chime in, but I'd bet (flamesuit:on) that poly bushings in the lower arms would reduce the hop if you were going purely for straight-line traction.
What do you mean, "cuctom made rear shock bar" BTW?

The Custom Rear Shock bar That you mention is something I created one day when I had too much time on my hands...
It's basicly a chromemoly bar that spans the length of the rear shock towers in theory to reduce flex.
I made it out of a old Volkwagen traction bar that I had laying around and decided to put it to use. It was a free and i figured it couldn't hurt. Plus it looks cool and it is a converstion piece.
The bushings keep comming up so I'll check them out next time I'm under the car.. with gas prices like they I ain't gonna be racing any time soon.

yeah but that is at palmdale at over 2000+ ft in the desert and I live on the coast. I haven't timed the car at a sea level track, nor do I have it jetted for the desert.
I do feel that it is alot slower at the track, then it is back here at home. I also beat my friend's mustang that ran 14.5 at pomona (about sea level) a few years back.
But i still feel my car could be quicker. anyone got a weber 48 sitting around? I still think my carb is too small
