steering wheel freeplay

Is there a way to adjust out all the freeplay in my steering wheel without removing the (manual) steering gearbox? I really don't want to have to try and separate the pitman arm from the center link (or tear apart my entire steering column).

Yes, check the mazspeed website facts section

www.mazspeed.com

You might take a quick look at the status of your idler arm bushing as well, they get fried fast from exhaust proximity and contribute to free play.

Hey man, thanks for the great link! If I can't follow those instructions then I shouldn't be allowed under the hood at all.

Nobody has a page for adjusting the power box... all I ever find is "a new one is $1300 so it's best to just leave it alone since you can ruin it" Well gee. For that matter a new engine is about $5000 (all new parts) so i guess you shouldn't mess with ignition timing because you can ruin your engine that way, eh?
