SA alternator upgrade

my alternator bearings are making noise, are there any plug and play upgrades for a stock SA? 50+Amps? TIA, sorry if this has been asked a million times, I searched and didn't see anything specific to my situation

Not much for plug and play. You might be able to find a local shop to rebuild it and wire it for more amperage. I just had mine rebuilt at a place here in Denver and he got it to put out 65 amps.

I see a bunch of 50 amp units on ebay that are listed as compatible but they don't show the back, and don't say if they are internally regulated so IDK

I would take a look at the plug and verify, plus see if you can find what it will fit.

I believe there's a conversion kit out there to fit a high amp FC alternator.
I'll try to dig it up for you.

Here is a post I made based upon my understanding of various posts here and elsewhere. YMMV but it works for me.

you could also try one of the guys that part out SA RX7s and see if they have a spare if you dont want to risk it with an aftermarket one
