SA AC condenser same as FB?

I’m needing an AC condenser for my 79, are the FB’s the same?
Here’s my fittings, the ones I have won’t fit.

It's different. The early dealer installed AC units are flare fittings where as the later are o-ring fittings. You could probably make an adapter to switch the engine bay side to o-ring fairly easily.

Great thanks. I’ll google around and try to find adapters. Maybe hydraulic hose place could make me new hoses.
I assume I’d need the size of these flare fittings to tell them, or could they go by the pic?

You'll need the size but they are standard size and flare fittings are still used in HVAC systems today so getting the hose made shouldn't be too hard. You'd measure them like you'd measure for AN fittings but instead of -6 it'd be 3/8.

Are you saying 3/8 is the size I need? I really have no idea how to measure the sizes, tempted to hold out until
i can find early hoses that will fit.

I'm not saying that but if memory serves, you measure the diameter of the fitting to get the size. Let me see what I can find out for you. Maybe I'll pull mine back apart, I'm needing to swap/repair the condenser anyway...

Speaking of which, would you know of a place to get such repairs made?

I would think a radiator repair shop could do it. Haven’t tried though.
I have a used one coming from Riggs Vintage Mazda.

I still haven't pulled apart the joint to measure but I found this to help you measure what you have.

Search for "SAE 45 degree flare"

Bottom of page three.
