Cool

It's a Miata kit, they don't make them anymore.

The stiffening brace is something I really like...Hijacked!

I was thinking of doing this like the "Greek"

Yea,I did that back in the day too, with the Brainstorm Miata kit.

Never got it to work so the lights went up and down, plus the lights themselves were horrible at actually lighting anything.Went back to stockers until I made my current flush light setup with Hella DOT legal projectors.

Ive seen that blue car many, many times online and Ive still never seen it with the lights down,so Im betting that he came to the same conclusion that I did.

all you have to do to get it to work is shorten the motor arms and relocate the motors a little bit thought about doing it my self havent gotten that far yet though

In theory you should be able to keep the motors where they are and adjust the arms... I mean the leverage shouldn't have to be moved much and the fulcrum is based in the arms themselves so... by making a different metal structure they shoudl be height adjustable... I think... I'm hella tired right now and I've been driving my 7 all day from Hayward to SF and back again and then going there and ... yeah I'm gonna stop rambling...

With the Brainstorm kit it wasnt a matter of making the housings open less,it was a matter of the dual light housings not matching the RX-7 hinges and linkage.
The dual light housings were wider than the 1st gen housings,so you couldnt just remove your light and slap the dual lights in place. If it were that simple, then the kit would have just done that since the 1G Miata has the same headlights as our cars. The kit replaced the entire assembely except for the painted lid and it was totally incompatible with the RX-7 hinges and linkage.

Now using different, narrower light pods will likely allow you to pull this off.Youll just have to figure out a solid method of attaching the lights where the big 7" units used to reside, but still include aiming fixtures since having the buckets only open halfway, means the lights will be pointing at the ground if they are solidly affixed.

Yeah that was the main reason why I didn't jump on those lights when I saw them was because they are originally designed for the miata and I figured what you had said about the width was going to be an issue.

Well if I knew **** about FB or CF molding I would try to mock-up some housings with individual lights and see if I could fabricate a housing that would fit in a stock FB with the orginal mounting points and hinges...

But I lack those skills so maybe I will just stick with paper models and try to make it on CAD. LOL

Another project to add to my list of stuff... which reminds me I need to finish my hood... x.x Its almost done...

I buddy of mine did something similar. He used round projection headlights for low and high(i believe) and a sqare fog right next to it. Had a sleepy eye conversion. They only poke like 2" up, look sweet as hell too.
